Improve my singing

Singing has always been a hobby of mine. I really miss being able to sing along to Josh Groban and my falsetto isn’t nearly as trained as it used to be. I want to get out of my hiatus and return to belting out my soul!

I have realised that the only thing that keeps me from singing “properly” is the lack of control. So i will work on it.
I recently quit smoking (2 weeks, after a 12 yr smoking career) and I think in a year I will hear concrete results… I’ll record my current position, then keep a monthly video diary, then we’ll see how far I have come exactly one year from now.

Let the vocal practise begin :o)

through out the trip i sang along with the radio, and i feel like i have increased my range back to when i was in highschool. i also have been singing along to the cd of my high school choir, and i am getting better at pitch, intonation and volume control. i consider this owned!

This weekend I’m auditioning for a musical review… all Oscar and Hammerstein. This is huge stretch… playing a supporting actor or being part of an ensemble is one thing, but if I get this I will be a part of a quintet. Personally, I don’t think I’m up to it, but I hope my voice is. Fake it til you make it, right?

Trying to work out some vocal issues that I’ve had for years. I’ve recently made some major breakthroughs and I’m just thrilled with the results. I made some new sounds yesterday and they are the best ones I’ve ever made!I want to continue to improve. I want more vibrato, which means less tension in my throat, which I am working on. Less tension overall is the goal. Less nasal sounding, more warmth and openness.

I can sing tenor and alto real good but when it comes to the high notes (the soprano parts) I cannot do it…. is there like a secret on how I can become a soprano? I want to able to sing in any key! help!

I’ve been taking private voice lessons. How has this helped? I’m on our worship team at church as a guitarist and vocalist, and I’m in my third musical (“Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” “Oklahoma!” and “Annie Get Your Gun.”)

And I have. And I have really improved. So I will check this one off to be accomplished. Maybe, when time allows, I will take a singing class and improve even more.
