Worth doing!
Once I actually sat down and did it, it only took a little bit of dinking around. Ended up setting up a DHCP server too, so I can leave the laptops in “hop on any network that’ll have you” mode and still have them get static IPs on the home LAN.

Worth doing!
Its pretty easy, and when combined with DHCP, (I use static addresses assigned via DHCP so I can plug in anywhere and not change anything) its even better. Haven’t figured out that DNS update thing though.
