How I did it: I went to a local garage sale near my neighborhood and went browsing at various people's "shops." I came across and few with bikes and I saw one that fit my size perfectly. We got the tires pumped at a local gasoline station. It was cheap and worth it! I used that bike over the summer and my legs got stronger haha. Before going to the garage sale i would look on craigs list, but since I can't drive, that wasn't optimal f… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Craigslist, Craigslist, Craigslist...until I found the perfect one (or two!). Even in the fall, there are people willing to sell. I now own a 1970's Huffy Bay Pointe cruiser and a 1980's Schwinn Caliente road bike. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I did my research for a few days on some of the decent but moderately-priced bikes on the market. Then, using the cash I'd made in a community garage sale, I purchased the bike. I use it all the time now. It helps me to stay in shape as well as save money on the rising gas prices! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I searched forever on Craig's List and sorted through all the different bikes. I wanted a beach cruiser instead of a mountain bike and finally found a few I wanted but everyone I emailed said they had just sold theirs. Finally I found a yellow and blue one an offered the seller $150 when they were asking $185. Five days later they took my bid and I picked it up! My friend who I went with was excited about mine and … Read how I did it…

Nothing like human energy that leaves ZERO CO2. I want a street bike and am looking at probably spending a grand. I’ve got some friends that are into bikes as well, and so it’s only natural I follow the ducks. But really it’s more about fun and getting out there and enjoying the outdoor scenery.
The only thing I don’t really care for about the whole bike subculture are those guys in spandex that look like their sponsored but really the companies that make them just want to advertise their name. It’s so ostentatious to look at, most likely trying to appeal to elitist mentalities, but I digress….
Anyways a nice road bike would be nice, just so I get the feel, and then I’ll play around with parts.

In Amsterdam MOST people own a bike even tourists feel obliged to rent a bike. And little old me has been avoiding getting a bike like the plague for these last 2 years… But with some persuasion from people i know… Due to the convenience of getting to 1 place to another in less than 20 mins instead of walking for more than an hour… I am about to be a pest to society.
Haven’t got it yet. Been thinking of getting a bike for ages although its been years since i last rode one. Bit nervous but hopefuly soon have a look in some bike shops see whats on offer. Will make life easier
i’m moving near the park, and it would be fantastic to have a bike for the summer & beyond.
i would like it to be red.

In 24 hours I’ll be the proud owner of a beauiful new mountain bike = happy days!
I’ve been fishing around Craig’s List but they are either A) surprisingly expensive or B) not very close/ at inconvenient times. Went to a shop and they were $400 – $600 (!!!) so perhaps I do not want a bike THAT bad after all.
