How I did it: I went to PetCo and adopted a cat that I named MJ. My mom picked it up the next day and we have had a lot of fun with her so far. It hasn't been easy dealing with some of her weirdness and oddities but she is amazing. I also adopted an old FAT (26 lbs.) cat named max who hates everyone but my mom. heh. but he's lovable himself. :]
Lessons & tips: I would try to buy an older cat because they won't chew on power cords drink from the toilet fight with your other cats as much ect. Unless they are all mean. or ugly. or you have a connection with a younger cat.

How I did it: First, I had to stop moving all the time. So I had to find a city, an apartment, and a job I liked. Once I did that, finding 2 adorable kitties I liked was easy. At first, I let them go outside, but one of them got hit, and the other stopped wanting to go outside. So I got another kitty to play with the one who didn't want to go outside. Had a friend email me a picture of a cat that will be going to the shelter. Darling orange and white cat that would need a name change but adorable cat. I emailed him back and said my housemate hated cats and then got back an email saying “Really…he referred me to you.” So my biggest obstacle of sharing my life with a cat appears to have disappeared!

problem is we travel quite often…what do i do with the cat then?ideas?
My boy and I are planning to get a cat once we move in to the new house, but we need to be careful since a good friend of ours is very allergic. We’re thinking a russian blue, since there’s one we could adopt from a friend that doesn’t trigger the boy’s mild allergies… hoping that works out!
When nothing goes wrong with my plans I’ll have a little garden soon. There is still the issue that a cat has a long lifespan and I’ll probably have to move again in a couple of years. So I still don’t know wheather it’s a good idea to have a cat now.
