Start having friends over for dinner again.

I put the dining room together. Well as best as I could considering it has been in a state of remodel for nearly 6 months. I took out my new set of dishes, my new flatware, new stemware and opened a bottle of Merlot, put on the steaks, made garlic mashed potatoes and my youngest son’s girl friend was our first guest. It was just the four of us. Myself, both sons and the girl friend. We laughed, talked science, trash television, time travel and well…you can’t have a long conversation in my home without discussing religion and music. We sat at the table for three hours. It was so wonderful.

The bonus…..my son’s girl friend is finishing the plaster on the wall as I write this. She wants to finish the painting before she goes back to college. I am so very grateful. 4 years ago

Perhaps the beginning of plan is taking place. Do I wait until I have the dining room painted or just take advantage of the big patio with the comfortable patio furniture? Patio! BBQ! Friends are much more important than perfection. 4 years ago
