play Rhapsody in Blue on my flute.

I was soaking it in when Eugene was playing his solos during the concert. I was in heaven… until the band came in and reminded what a piece of crap they sound like. Oh well, I guess you can’t have it all. Sure I would have loved to have played this song with an elite group, or even with my high school band cause we kicked ass. But I guess mediocre is the best I can get our of the Lehigh Wind Ensemble. Looking on the bright side, I probably wouldn’t have had another opportunity to play beside one of the most amazing and talented pianists. Great experience! Loved it.

My concert is coming up this month in April. The pianist is incredible…..... I can’t wait! Even though the Wind Ensemble I play with is terrible, I still love the song. If only we played it my senior year in high school. It would have sounded just incredible and unbelievable.

So I just found out today that our Wind Ensemble is going to play Rhapsody in Blue this April!!! And we’re going to have this amazing piantist too. I can’t even begin to tell you how thrilled I am for this! I better make it to first chair so that I can have all the solos!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is like my favorite american piece ever!
