HallieBaby needs to spend less time setting goals and more time achieving them
OH MY GOD it was so amazing!!!! AAAHHH I am so happy! I am going to make such an incredibly wonderful scrapbook page =D
Somerset House, the venue, was so small and lovely and intimate – we were really near to Him as you can probably see from the photo. It was a proper party: in the queue circus entertainers were there making balloon hats and juggling and being on stilts and stuff; inside, Lollipop Girls were walking round handing out lollipops, and throughout the show the amazingness kinda built up too: first an inflatable Big Girl and an inflatable Lollipop Girl inflated either side of the stage, then Mika took is top off and played the steel dustbin, then the bubble machine started going, then at the end confetti spurted out, and then as we were looking up at the confetti falling on us, streamers whooshed out and it was like: ‘aaahhh! oooh!!’ =D Then at the end lots of people dressed up as animals came on stage along with the Big Girls and Lollipop Girls and there was just a big party, and Mika just disappeared!! Which was sad, but mysterious and amazing.
And it was so great because there were lots of gay men there and they were all so friendly and lovely.
The warm up band were good too: Patrick Wolf. He was INSANE. Good music though, I just bought ‘The Stars’ from iTunes. He was writhing around on the floor and had a west-country accent (but he may have been putting it on) and stripped down to his pants! =D
In between Patrick and Mika there was like, a half an hour wait, and we would have been bored, but the man in front of us turned round and started chatting to us, and all of a sudden he was like: ‘I’m a magician!’ and started doing tricks! Everyone around was watching, but me and Clare got to pick all the cards and write on them and stuff =D It was so fun!
Mika’s voice was FLAWLESS, as good as the on the album, definitely, which is quite something!!! He was so energetic and crazy and fun and Mika-ish, too! =D He did 2 covers, both of which were great. He did that one: ‘Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air, I know I can count on you’, you know? And he did ‘Sweet dreams are made of this, who am I to disagree, travelled the world and the seven seas, everybody’s looking for something’. He sang through his whole album, not in order though, and he was like: ‘Are there any big girls here tonight??’ and everyone screamed and e started singing Big Girl. Once he’d gone off stage before his encore,I started a chant going ‘Lollipop! Lollipop!’ because that’s the only song he hadn’t done and I really wanted it! Lol. It was his encore though and that was when all the animlas came on, it was AMAZING.
It was so nice, because Mika was like, ‘we’ve been touring for 10 months now, and this was the gig none of us wanted to cancel in any circumstances, despite what some of us have been going through these past few weeks…’. I was like, ‘OH NO, what’s happened? What have they been going through??’ Poor babes!!! :( But he was also like, ‘I recognise most of you, you are all crazy, how did you get on the tube with all your outrageous costumes?!’ cos loads of people were dressed up. Omg he was so lovely and friendly! =D =D
I am so happy, because I got an AMAZING Mika t-shirt for £15 – not too expensive! =D Me and Clare also bought a Mika rosette each for £2 each =D =D
Tuesday day was full of travel and shopping, which was all good – I bought lots :) Our youth hostel was just off Oxford Street and so it was excellent. Then we did the whole concert thing, and weds we did more shopping and had a frapuccino and cake for breakfast and Subway for lunch (omg, subway =D), but it was good because even though we had to check out at 10.00, we could store our baggage in the basement in the lockers, so we didn’t have to carry it around all the shops =D.
I now love London so much it makes me want to cry. The underground is SO EFFICIENT! We payed £5.10 for an all day pass for zones 1&2, where a single is about £4, and twice we just missed a train, but literally 30secs later another one arrived. The whole trip just went without a hitch! I am so happy =D. We also met gazillions of lovely people – not ONE horrid person! E.g. we were trying to find a post box to send Lisa and Heather post cards, but we couldn’t find one anywhere, so we saw a post van and the postman was just returning to it, and we were like, where’s a post box please? And he was like, ‘oh don’t worry about it ladies, I’ll drop them in when I pass one’ :D.
My feet are killing from walking everywhere though.
God, it was so fabulous, though!!! =D AAhhhhhh :D :D :D :D <3
