It makes life easier. All of my friends make fun of my because I still use the “Home” Keys, who know, what they taught us in grade school, a, s, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, etc…

Makes internet life and typing papers for school soooooo much easier. I play an online text game too, that helps me keep my speed up. :)

    Very handy...! 4 years ago

I have been touch typing for over 14 years – ever since being trained at school. It’s something I don’t have to think about and as I work with a PC every day for a living.

There is loads of software out there that will help you learn to touch type – try amazon.

I flipped all the keys around, so looking at the keyboard didn’t give me any info.

Now I’ve got a new one with ordered keys, and out of old habit I’m starting to look down again even though I can type faster without doing it.

I’ve got to de-order them again..

Edit: I took me seven minutes. I’m now the owner of a FQYOU-keyboard

Double-edit: FQYOU, That’s almost Fuck you, which is bad, but who cares

to do this, by a little old nun who used to swat my fingers with a ruler if I looked down (and she never missed a glance)... we had manual typewriters (remember those) with the letters removed off the keys, and a big diagram at the front of the room so we had no choice but to learn ‘properly. It was a break from regular lessons at the time and the walk over to the convent was lovely, but it is such a useful skill to have, I really appreciate it now!

Oh, she also used to play walzes on a tiny little recordplayer (remember them….) to help us work up a good rhythm!
