It had been awhile since I caught a frog.. but in December I went to the Everglades in FL and I did it again!!! Cute little guy. Its these kind of things that make me appreciate the beauty of the world- just holding such an amazing wild creature. Hop on froggie.. hop on.

we took the guinea pigs to roam in their outside run, which is very overgrown, as it’s been so wet recently. I spotted a tiny frog who had taken up residence in there. She hopped onto my hand and we admired her. When I dropped her back in, she hopped straight onto the back of one of the guineas, who was quite oblivious, so she had a nice ride for a while!

My cousin and I used to catch tadpoles and frogs in a creek when we were younger. Now it seems like I always think of it when the weather’s not right for them to be out. I think they’re cute and slimy and I want to catch one, play with it, and put it back in. : )

Caught frogs when I was six. We brought home eggs too and some time later we had frogs all over the place.

I have a three legged frog statue in my hall that is supposed to give me fortune…hmmm

Frog legs are just not that delicious…not the ones in Pernod I got anyway

Polliwogs to frogs  — 1 year ago

    Worth doing!

When I was eight we lived in what was then rural southwestern Connecticut, across the road from some rich people. The man was a retired doctor who had invented a famous test for gonorrhea. Anyway, they were rich and had a pond with a little dock, and concrete toadstools and a couple of gnomes or something next to it. And millions of polliwogs. We caught them and “raised” them (i.e., with Mom’s help, they didn’t all die of neglect) and then released them back to the pond. I love frogs and toads and when I see one I drop what I’m doing to follow and try to catch it, and hold it just for a moment. Mom taught us very well about how wild animals want to be treated gently and allowed to go back to their own homes.

When I was younger I was all about catching frogs, toads, and tadpoles. I was such a tomboy growing up. Frog catching is still something i will/ would do :)

And a toad, too!  — 1 year ago

I used to loooove catching toads in my back yard when I was younger. It’s a little more difficult to find them in the middle of the city, but I promise I’ll try to catch any frog or toad I see!

I used to catch frogs, but I was smaller, sneakier, and a little quicker then.

this shouldn’t be too difficult to do, unless you have a fear of frogs, or live in a frog-free environment…
