Fell off the wagon... 14 months ago

I’ve been slacking on this for quite a while, but I did put some cd’s up for sale on ebay the other day. Once I trade out my summer & winter closets, I’ll start selling the clothes.

Generosity and greed 18 months ago

I’ve always been good about giving clothes and other goods to the Salvation Army, but thanks to a friend who works in the fashion industry, I currently have a lot of really expensive (they were free to me, but the price tags are outrageous!) items, and I simply can’t bring myself to just give them away even if I know I’ll never wear some of them. I’ve been selling cds on ebay for a few months now, and that has proved lucrative, so I think it’s time to take the next step and start selling off clothes, shoes, bags, coats, etc. It’s kind of a hassle to figure out how to price things, estimate shipping, and get to the post office (I live in NYC), but it’ll be worth it when I see my paypal account grow and my clutter disappear!

    Baby steps... 2 years ago

I still swap my books at PaperBackSwap.com and BookMooch.com. I’ve sold a number of my extra PBS credits, too, to keep me from ordering more books. I’ve remembered how much I love the library (and if I really love something, I can check it out again!).

I’ve also sold some things on eBay in my attempt to declutter. It’s a process, but hopefully one that will make my life more sane at the end.

i really want to get ride of extra things. but i do not know which are the extra ones. can someone please help me in identifying the extra things

When I clean out parts of my room, I find papers to recycle, items to donate. But I’m not very good about parting, or ceasing to acquire things altogether.

I love sites like PaperBackSwap.com, because in exchange for giving away some belongings, I get something new to me. I also look forward to packing up at the end of the semester, as I’m bound to decide to get rid of a few more things then.

In progress indefinitely 3 years ago

Every time I move, which has been often the last 5 years, I always end up getting rid of more stuff. I inevitably get more, but moving always spurs me on to drop some much un-needed baggage. I am currently in the process of selling off some of my old stuff on Ebay, and feel very good about doing it. I do keep certain things from my past, as mementos, but mostly I’m getting rid of things I don’t use or don’t really need.

This is something I’ll propably be doing for ever. I think Gandhi got it just about right. Did he leave four things behind when he died, or what? I think I won’t get that far, though.
