Don’t know why per se but it feels like effort to do things I actually want to do normally, and especially so where work is concerned – everything just feels boring, and yet by lacking motivation I’m more bored..

I need to kick myself into shape somehow

It would not be hard for me at all to sleep an entire day.Even if I have a list of things to do. To be honest that is most likely the day I do sleep away.

i’ve realized that i don’t have a lack of self-motivation, it’s rather, i’ll do what i want on my own time. so chyea.

I am having trouble figuring out how to accomplish this goal. 2 years ago

Any suggestions?? I can list the things I want to do:

    exercise
    study
    clean the house
    have a party
    get caught up on errands
    etc.

but actually getting the motivation to DO them is a different matter. I try and talk myself into action “You’ll be happier when the errand is finished”, but it doesn’t seem to work very well.

So 43ers, how do you motivate yourselves??

It is definitely self motivation I need. At the moment my life is motivated by demands rather than desires and this seems wrong.

I have a head full of ideas and inspirations but when I get some precious time in which to implement them I’m to tired. I work 8 hours per day followed by 4 hours looking after the kids. This leaves me with roughly 2 hours to spend with my partner and approximately 0 hours to do something creative. This is if I sleep 10 hours per day.

I find that the first hour at work is the only productive time I have and unfortunate I’ve spent some of it writing this entry.

to exercise and do some of the things I need to do. Part of my secret is that I have to operate on auto-pilot. If I think about what I am supposed to do, I come up with lots of justifications as to why I shouldn’t do them at this point in time. Crazy.
