get the Essure procedure done

I’m almost 29, pregnant with #3 (a girl) and I have two young boys (3 and 1). They say you know when you’re done, and they are RIGHT! I always thought I’d want 4, but I HATE being pregnant, and I’m ready to move on to that next stage in life!
I’ll be 47 when this last one is 18, and that sounds awesome to me!

Essure is the best. No worries whatsoever! I highly recommend it if you are certain you do not want children or anymore.

i got my procedure done on august 6th, 2008. it was pretty decent and that evening we went to see pineapple express (TOTALLY AWESOME!)

i’m scheduled for my HSG on october 21st, 2008. fingers-crossed.

I had the Essure procedure done in my doctor’s office. It took about 45 minutes, there was some cramping pain during the procedure but nothing you can’t deal with.

Recovery is so easy-light bleeding and cramping on day one. Bleeding tapers off just like a period.

No incisions, no anesthesia, no hospital-costs about 1/3rd of a tubal and my insurance convered it.

The freedom that Essure brought me was not so much a physical freedom as it was a mental and emotional freedom.

One lasting result of infertility was the mind games. ALWAYS knowing what cycle day I am on, knowing my body’s signs and when I was ovulating and then two weeks of ‘what if’. Wondering if sore breasts were because my cycle was coming or a sign that it wasn’t. I would stop excercising because I didn’t want to hurt any child that may have been conceived and the list goes on.

We have been pregnant five times. We have mourned three babies, but we have two incredible little boys. After our 13 month old was born, I still thought that we might want another one down the road, but I knew in the pit of my soul that I just did not ever want to be pregnant again. There were the obvious reasons of history and stats not being in our favor; but more than that, I want to be able to give myself to my kids and I was seeing that with the two, I could. I can be with them, both my husband and I are with them or we can each take one to do whatever, but they don’t get left out. Then I noticed that as things are, we go out a couple times a month for something extra, we can spoil them a little bit. I want these things for my boys and Essure has given me the confidence of knowing that they will have it.

Other than the knowledge that I now have titanium microinserts inside my fallopian tubes I feel pretty good, just a little crampy. Can’t wait for the test in three months to confirm that the tubes have closed.

Doing this next Thursday, will let ya know what i think post procedure.

I had this done last September, and it is WONDERFUL. I’ve basically forgotten there is such a thing as birth control and forgotten that there ever was anything to worry about when having sex. I often forget that I’m sterilized, and when I remember I get this unbelievable feeling of happiness. It’s great to have something so completely taken care of… forever.
