i found:
-an american red cross club at my home university. i emailed the president inquiring more about what the club does. i desperately want to be involved in more groups when i return from my abroad hiatus!
-equestrian centres nearby in ireland. they are quite costly but i hope to go for a day, maybe for only a couple hours, to get back in touch with riding!

-my old exercise routine (now tacked onto my bulletin board so i have to loook at it until i do it)

I week or so a go, I found a butterfly sticker on the window of the Chamber of Commerce, as I was walking to the office after running an errund. It was really pretty and big. It was only semi stuck on the window so I grabbed it and stuck it to my briefcase for fun.

Sunday I found 2 big silver spoons over by an empty lot where a trailer should sit, while I was talking to my mother.

Yesterday as I was running my errunds for the office, I found a half (broken at the 18 inch mark) of a yard stick. It probably was left over from the Popcorn Festival.

This is really fun. It is almost like a treasure hunt, but I never know what I am hunting for! 5 years ago

As I was walking back from the Courthouse, running an errund for the office, I found a cardboard page from a child’s book. A young child’s book. The word on it said.

“Jim listens closely as Jenny speaks. Jenny only says things that are nice and sweet”

On one said it showed a mouse wearing a bandana, which I assume is a little boy mouse named Jim.

The page seemed to be very nice and wondered if this was a favorite book of some child that lost part of it or maybe all of it and I just found the part. The words that were written are so very encouraging to good behavoir. I can only wonder what the rest of the book was like.

I love to read and I love children as well so finding this tugged my heart strings knowing that some day I might be able to read to my own child (if I have one).

It is sad that the book or at least one page of the book came to an end. It makes me wonder what has happend to the various childhood books that I used to love reading. Are they still out there being enjoyed by other children? I specifically remember this one book about a young elephant that I loved as a child and a book of fairy tales. I wonder there they might be now. 5 years ago

I was walking across the parking lot on my way to work when I saw this lone penny, just glinting in the afternoon sun. I paused to pick it up and reflected on where it might it been before it found its way into my hands.

It then started to make me wonder about all the little things that we all find in our walk through this life and how the lost becomes found.

A couple years ago, I went to the beach and I was leaving I saw a green army soldier half buried in the sand. I passed him up and then went back and picked him up and placed in on the dashboard of my car and wondered who he might have belonged to. I like to think that I saved this little lost soldier from the vast sands of the beach in which he was lost.

So I hope to document the little things that I find on my daily walks that have seemingly have been lost by others and found by me.
