The Palace Museum as the Chinese call it was AMAZING. On my way to Forbidden City I walked through Tiananmen Square which is absolutely monstrous in size. There were waves of little red hats from all of the tour groups and their umbrella toting tour guides tromping this way and that. The city itself is stunningly large. Not much of what was in the palace remains. It was raided and now resides in TAiwan. This is actually a boon b/c Mao would have probably destroyed most of it. The architecture itself is simiply breathtaking. The Chinese Heritage group has done a great job of preserving the buildings and the general up keep of the site.
My camera battery died out 20 minutes into the City that I had to go back for more pictures afterward.
