take drivers ed

starting in eleven days – YES!

So, the 26-6 I did the class room portion. Well, actually this Monday we had to make up a class because of a snowday. 2-5 after school. It was a small group which was nice, only 5 of us, and I knew everyone. Plus, I wasn’t the only junior. Our intructor was really cool, and it was laid back.

Before I can sign up for road lessons, my mom had to take a parent class. I signed her up for the one next Monday.

At the school I went to, they do 8 lessons, each an hour and and a half with 45 minutes of observation. I need 40 hours with a parent. My mom refuses to take me driving until I go driving with them first. =[ Which bites, because with the time of year and all and them not being as busy, I was hopeing to be able to schedule my lessons close together and being able to get my license kinda quickly. [I’ve had my permit since August, so i could get my license this month.] My parents haven’t been too cruel as to not take me driving at all, they took me in a parking lot. My dad took me a few times. Then my mom took me once, and got frustrated because my dad really hadn’t taught me much. Perhaps if she had taken me? Hmm.

First off I need a car. Which my family is getting next year. I really want to get out of this house and go places. We don’t have the money for drivers ed yet, but by the time we have a car I’ll be over 15 1/2, able to do it here no question asked. I can’t wait…

Ok… I finally scheduled my driving. July 9, 10, 11. They are 3 hours, 2 hours, and 3 hours respectively. I’m glad i’m going to be able to get them over with.

Well I have finally finished my 6 agonizingly long 4-hour drivers ed clases. Here in Ohio you have to drive 50 hours with your parent (10 hours night driving) and take drivers ed. The drivers ed consists of 24 hours class (Hence 6 classes x 4 hours = 24 hours) and 8 hours driving with an instructor.
My driving school gives you three options to complete the 8 hours. The first is four 2 hour drives. The next is two 3 hour drives and a 2 hour drive. The last option is two 4 hour drives.
What do you think i should do? Personally i’m leaning towards the middle option of two 3 hour drives and a 2 hour, but that could easily change. I also like the idea of just getting them over with and just doing the two 4 hours. I really don’t like the idea of four 2 hours because thats just too many drives.
I’m not really concerned with this though because i’m just so glad to be done with classes… i’m used to sitting through long, boring things but it was agonizing even for me. Now I get to laugh at my friends who have to take them now!!!

I’ve got my permit and about 13 hours of my driving done (we need to have 60 hours in MD). I’m trying to talk my dad into signing me up for driving school this summer.
I can’t wait to drive my beautiful Subaru SVX all by myself :P

I ended up taking drivers ed. september through october. It was a five week class and I passed. It WAS actually taught by Mr.Foss. All I can say is that is one crazy teacher. and I quote “I don’t just teach you how to drive, I teach the real world.”

For classes starting 5 April. So I’ll count this done, even though it is technically not.

And now I drive a pretty Mazda Tribute. :)

I’m gonna start my driving classes next Monday and hopefully be done with it by Dec. 1. I need to finish it soon so I can have my hardship.
