How I did it: I went to different bridal shops and tried not to think about my budget at all. I just wanted to have fun trying on dresses and not worry about the cost. I narrowed down my choices at each shop by deciding with process of elimination. If it was too plain or I liked another one better, it was discarded from my choices. I finally narrowed it down to two and couldn't decide, so I left and thought about it for a few days I found myself thinki… Read how I did it…

I went to David’s Bridal yesterday with my friends Sara and Mrs. Natalie. I pulled God knows how many dresses to try on, but I successfully narrowed it down to TWO! I’m very confused though, because I cannot decide! Plus, all the dresses I’ve tried are all a blur, so I cant even remember what the dress Laura and I picked out even looks like. So I need to get that picture to make absulutely sure that I like the David’s Bridal ones better. The problem is, all three are completely different styles, so I just have to decide what I want to go with. Ahh!! I’ll be glad when I finally know and can make the down payment!

I went to a bridal shop in Ann Arbor with my future sister, Laura and we found a gorgeous dress that is definitely a top choice! We wrote down the designer and style number so that I can look for it in Alabama. On Thursday morning I’m going back to David’s Bridal with Sara and her mom, so I’m very excited! This is a lot of fun :)

I was intimidated at first, because this is still all so new to me! I’m not in any way new to dress shopping – I was in pageants throughout high school – but, I’m definitely new at WEDDING DRESS shopping! I had it on my to do list for 2 weeks and finally went to David’s Bridal today to take a look, and tried on 3 dresses. The first one that I tried was amazing! And its only the first one! I’m so excited!! But, I’m definitely going back for another appointment with friends and also check out other shops too!

Clovergirl wonders how long can you call yourself a newlywed?
Okay, I thought dress shopping was going to be a LOT more fun than it was! I got a lot of attitude from the attendants in a lot of the dress shops. The looks of disgust on their faces when I told them that the wedding was in August…! Mostly they told me that it would take 6-8 months to have a dress specially made, and that they couldn’t help me, and I’d left it too late and should have started looking much earlier.
Hello, we only got engaged 2 months ago!
Anyway, I found a lovely dress shop where the owner served me and did everything possible to help – she sold me a dress from the rack that fitted perfectly so won’t need any alterations other than the hem taken up, and even took $500 off the price which put it right in my budget.
I love it, it reminds me of the dress Cinderella wore in the Disney cartoon! (well, it did til I google image-searched a pic of it!)
Yay, happy to cross this goal off the list!

120 days til the wedding and I’m going dress shopping tomorrow!
I’ve always wanted a really puffy dress (tastefully puffy that is!) but I’m not sure how that will work with my body shape. I’m looking forward to trying them all on!
