When I Escape... — 4 months ago
When I escape society, I would like to live in the wilderness and build myself a small cabin to live in.
I’m looking forward to a free life.
Peace,
Brad

I have a pier and beam foundation built that is 37 – 37 feet and I have cut down all my trees for the house. All I need to do is skin the rest of them and putting them on the foundation using block and tackle devices. I have a ways to go but when I have more free time I plan to do more.
I have the plan picked out but where to build? I am still sorting this out in my head!
i will build a cabin on my own…no contractors and crazy stuff. just me and some friends. that would be great. i don’t need anything fancy- just a couple rooms and a fireplace.
I have the land, have the timber, even have 1 window. I’ve started cutting down the logs, only 2 so far, but this is a long-range project. I plan on cutting 1 or 2 every week or so. De-barking them is no fun, especially in this heat. But every log I cut, I can see progress being made. I plan to retire in a year or so, so I should have all my materials by then, and that’s when I start putting it all together.
I AM building my log cabin. I have 20 logs hewn and all the foundation stones I need. I love hewing the logs- it is difficult and very rewarding.
We’ve got 14 acres of the most beautiful mountain land, adjoining the Cherokee national forest, and after three years we’re ready to build! we’ve got our kit picked out, our budget hammerd out, now we have to get the financing. I’m so excited! Look at that view!
Now all I need is the money! Must get more money… The picture is where I want to build and the view is breathtaking…
