They were like this the whole morning and early afternoon. Sometimes they would sit up and she would rub his back. Other times she would lean over him and he would reach up and stroke her hair. I loved watching them. Some people don’t though. Some people like to make fun of the way people act when they are in love. It must be they are either jealous because they have been in love before and miss it, or they just can’t relate because they haven’t. Or they have been and were disappointed by it. Or maybe they’re just mean. But seeing people in love makes me happy. 5 years ago

Or is this the funniest thing ever? And, okay, it may not really belong in the happy file, but it made me laugh uncontrollably today so it’s in! 5 years ago

Sometimes I am on my way home from somewhere and I get to my street and I just want to keep going. So tonight I did. This is my guilty pleasure. I don’t like to waste fuel so I don’t often go driving for no reason, with no place to go, even though that is when my mind is at its most creative. I love the time alone and the almost trance-like state it puts me in and everything else about it. The wind in my hair and on my face, my favorite album singing through the speakers, the moon roof open and the stars shining on me. The hum of the tires under me and the green glow of the freeway signs. The white lights coming at me and the red lights pulling away from me. Even the little scary thrill of semi-trucks passing me and the force of them pushing me aside. I love this. I should have been a trucker. :) 5 years ago

Like the way I could never set this goal, or this one, without making my teammate on this goal fall right out of his chair. 5 years ago

I came across it in the Metro newspaper the Monday before last. Caption:
“Game over: Markku Mustonen, right, offers his congratulations to Timo Kaukonen, the winner of this year’s Sauna World Championships. The Finn held out in 110 degrees Celsius (230 degrees Fahrenheit) heat for 12mins 26secs to take the title in Heinola, Finland.”

Someone unexpected gave me a compliment today.
You are totally weird, but that’s why I just love you to pieces!!
Yeah, I realize to some it may not seem a compliment to be called weird, but it’s all in how it’s said. Like, when my sister says it, it’s with a sneer on her lip and a dismissive roll of her eyes. But coming from this person, it means I find your eccentricities interesting and loveable. Some people just won’t get you, but it’s great when you find someone who does. :) A lot of times you have to look outside your own family, though. 5 years ago

There was supposed to be a meteor shower, so we slipped out at dark, walked to the playground and climbed on top of the monkey bars. Stayed there for hours, scanning the sky and talking and waiting. We never found what we were looking for, but that night belongs here. 5 years ago

“After making headlines – and enemies – across the US by becoming the first National Basketball Association player to come out, John Amaechi is trying to lose the tag of “that gay British basketball player”. A project to give thousands of youngsters in the UK a better start in life may provide a different kind of legacy…
The part that made me happy:
”...He received letters and e-mails from different kinds of people – US soldiers quitting the military so they could come out, gay and straight parents of gay and straight children. Some people would burst into tears and give him a bear hug in the street.”5 years ago
