    #3 I am intelligent  — 7 months ago

The third thing I like about myself is that I’m intelligent.

I may not be the most intelligent of my peergroup, or the most motivated, and I’ve certianly been known to pull some pretty boneheaded stunts, but none of that negates the fact that I’m intelligent. I get good grades without much effort, I enjoying thinking in abstract concepts, I grasp new ideas with relative ease. Despite my ample amounts of self-doubt, I really am a smart person.

I like that I am intelligent.

    #2 I make people laugh  — 7 months ago

The second thing I like about myself is that I can make people laugh.

I used to be a very unfunny person – except unintentionally – but over the years I’ve learned to embrace my own weirdness and turn it into a unique brand of humour. I may be no good at jokes or planned funniness, but I’ve got a nack for silly faces, non sequitors and cheery, rambling rants that send my friends into giggles. Somehow I’ve gone from having no sense of humour at all to being the comedic relief in my group of friends.

I like that I can make people laugh.

    #1 I am a Wordsmith  — 8 months ago

High time I got started on this.

The first thing I like about myself is that I’m a wordsmith.

When I write, I may (I DO) doubt my ability to create 3d charecters, an engaging plot, fascinating new ideas. Furthermore, I can’t spell worth beans, and the spellchecker only catches so much.

Depsite this, I don’t doubt my ability to wordsmith. I’ve got a knack for always knowing the right word to use. Sometimes I can’t even define the word, I just KNOW it’s the one I want. For the most part, my writing flows, my imagery is good… words are my medium, and I’m proud of what I create.

    I like that I am a wordsmith.

    Worth doing!

    10. I am both politically and religiously non-committal.

I think both religion and politics are very interesting, but I am fairly non-committal with both. My political leanings are to one side of centre, but mainly because my views fluctuate from left to right depending on the subject and my overall leaning is an average.

As far as religion goes, I respect all that aim to do no harm to other people – I don’t practise one currently and have been agnostic as long as I can remember. I am interested in exploring my own spirituality though, and will not judge on what is true or not true.

I am always happy to hear others’ take on politics and religion, as long as they are also fairly open-minded. I don’t mind people being opinionated in these areas as long as they have good reasons, rather than irrational prejudice.

    9. I am even-tempered (usually).

I generally keep my cool in most situations. For the most part, I can remain quite detached and calm when faced with other people’s heated emotions, perhaps too much so. This isn’t always the case, but I would say that it is more typical of me than not.

    Worth doing!

    8. I can be really hard-working as long as I have strong motivation.

Since I focus so much, rather than having an ability to multi-task, I can really get stuck into a project and work on it to the exclusion of other things. As long as my motivation doesn’t sink really low, I will continue with something for hours on end.

    Worth doing!

    7. I’m loyal.

I like to meet lots of people and some of them may only be in my life for a short space of time, but those who I make friends with, I am loyal to, and I make relationships that last :)

    Worth doing!

    6. I can start a conversation with a stranger in many situations.

I don’t randomly start a conversation anywhere and with anyone, but if I feel that a stranger is open to chat, I’ll give it a whirl and approach with some generic comment and see where it goes – it’s passed many a train or bus journey! :) I’ve had conversations with all sorts of people and then never seen them again, but for some short time, you get to find out about others’ life experiences, what they think and feel, what it’s like where they live, their opinions and perceptions. It can be an eye-opener and quite enjoyable :)

    Worth doing!

    5. I’m alive – I have 4 limbs, 2 eyes which with the help of glasses work fine, 2 ears which are also working fine (barring the occasional concert!), no major health concerns, no allergies, and although I’m majorly in debt from university and far from rich, I am more fortunate than the vast majority of the world.

This is all something to feel happy about, and I’m not so attached to like or dislike of my body that I would become emotionally unstable over any physical part of me. There’s parts of me I wish were better, but don’t we all? Considering no-one’s perfect, I’m quite happy with how I am physically :)

    Worth doing!

    4. I can be determined and act upon my intentions.

I can be very lazy quite often, but when I really want to do something, I can somehow find a strong determination which will keep me single-mindedly on track towards the goal I am aiming to achieve. I have to really want something though, with no doubts. The problem I have is to be convicted and determined in the first place, but if I actually work out what I want to do, I reckon I could get a lot done :)
