I’m entering my dream college in a few weeks -taking my dream course, and I really want to do as well as all my teachers said I could. All throughout gradeschool and highschool, I sort of slacked off but got pretty good grades anyway. My teachers kept telling my parents I could have gotten honors if I actually focused more -but I got too wrapped up in friend related drama, boy related drama, and focused on my extracurriculars like sports and pep squad too much. But I always regretted it at graduation because I longed to go up on stage to get a medal, too. BECAUSE I KNEW I COULD HAVE. No more regrets this time!
How to graduate from college with honors
How I did it: I have always been a good student, but I wanted to push myself even further. I studied a lot, but I maintained a social life as well. That helped a lot. Too much stress can drive a person crazy!
Lessons & tips: All I can say I've said above!
Resources: Check with your advisor or if you're considering college make an appointment to meet with someone about your academic goals.

Graduated top in class, and was initiated into the national Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (Oklahoma City University, USA Chapter). :)
i did graduate with honors. but it really hasn’t made a difference in my career.
So go for it for yourself!
I’m finishing college next year. Current GPA is 3.8, and I’m hoping to graduate with honors or any award for that matter. Currently I think I am the top student in class but there’s no place for complacency!
To those who are just entering college, I think that the key to achieving such is quite simple: FOLLOW YOUR BLISS.
What ever it is you’re passionate about, that’s what you should be doing. I was accepted for a Degree in Computer Science, Major in Computer Systems Engineering (nosebleed!) but I am glad I didn’t go with it. Not only would have I flunked it (I suck at Math, I wonder how I got accepted in the first place), I would have been very unhappy too.
I ended up with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, with a concentration in Mass Communications and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. :-)
im transferring to sdsu this fall 2007 and i’m coming in with a transfer g.p.a of about 2.4+/-! i messed up the beginning of my college career, but i’ve worked hard to get my g.p.a up! i’m hoping at the end of my sdsu career it’ll be high enough to get “cum laude” at least! that would be great! cum laude ranges from a 3.4-3.5 g.p.a? wish me luck! i’ve got two more years!
I was talking to the Career Services woman today about work term. She needed my average marks and attendance for the form. I was surprised (in a very good way) at what they were.
Marks – 95%
Attendance – 97%
So far, I’ve still got honors!
I’m in legal specialization now. Each section is like a module.
First one was great. Got 99.3%. It was just a week of just about nothing.
Just finished the second one. Wills and Estates. It was two weeks. Got 9/10 for attendance. So 90%, when I need 95% overall attendance. That shouldn’t really hurt if I dont miss much more time before I’m done school. I got 84% overall for that module. Which is by far the lowest mark I’ve gotten yet. Next lowest being 91-92%. I can’t have a mark below 80%, and need a 90% average. If my marks keep going like this, I won’t graduate with honors.
PLAN:
To proofread more. Only miss a day if I have to, not want to.
(The one day I missed is because I was going home for the weekend and plus they were taking a field trip to the justice building and I don’t have a car so it’s a lot of work for me to get down there)
