stree67 Realises that it's the small changes that make the big differences
Well, this one keeps slipping. Becasue of my job & where i work & travel, I prefer to work out in the morning before work but, of late I’ve struggled to get up & out. Evenings at the gym are mobbed so I dont go then. But, I haven’t been going as frequently as i want to.
I’m currently off work with a cough/cold etc + my son is down tomm until next Thurs so, that will be when I re-start. I’ve also got a bit of a challenge now as a friend (Kevin) has “found” himself & quit drinking about 9+ months ago or longer & now hits the gym on a regfular basis & has lost shed loads of weight. Even when I start back, as long as I am disciplined then I can achieve 4+ visits a week between now & EOY…and lose weight!

Emz23 has decided to embrace life!!! and the rest of 2009!!
There is no way of me avoiding this as I am now training for the marathon so now I have to train 6 days a week to follow my workout schedule. Cannot wait to be more fitter x

Kinda lost a bit of momentum here as my son was down with me for over a week but, I still managed to get a few runs in. Looking back at August, I managed 14 exercise sessions, be it gym or outdoor runs so, that makes an avergae of 3.5 times a week (assuming 4 weeks to a month). This month so far I have managed x2 outdoor runs & my 1st gym session for a week & a bit.

I’ve kept a record of when I have exercised this month and, so far for the past three weeks it works out to 4 times a week (combination of gym workouts & outdoor running). So, I’m on track. I’ll know for sure when I hit Mid Sept though…

Well, so much for the fantastic start. By April I started back drinking. And with that followed snacking, skipping gym sessions, eating too much etc etc etc. I have still attended during this time but the levels of fitness have dropped so I’m now more determined to get back into the habit. I have been struggling with running but, it is starting to get a bit easier. I’ve also reverted back to splitting my sessions out by cardio, upper and lower body. On the weights front, I’m doing pyramid sets so at the initial “finding the right balance” stage but I think I’ll have it by next week. I’ve decided to stop drinking for the time being too & although this is no big deal, this is now my 3rd snack free day (that means bad snacks).

I walked during my lunch break for about 40 minutes.
To Do: 1) Walk at least 40 minutes tomorrow during my lunch break. 2) Exercise to Leslie Sansone in the morning.

stree67 Realises that it's the small changes that make the big differences
Since I set this goal, I realise that my current mindset and drive/determination mean that I will meet it. Since the start of Jan, I have managed 24 sessions, mainly at the gym with a couple of outdoor runs thrown in the mix for good measure!
Back in EO Sept 08, I enrolled in the EAS Body for life challenge through LA Fitness and didn’t follow it through properly. The plus side is that I learnt a shed load of new exercises which I have been doing since. I decided to restart a “programme” in Jan on my own but, the big one here is I also kicked the booze into touch. Basically went out on Jan 3rd & got wasted, felt like poo the next day & have avoided drink since (also coupled with the fact that Jan was a very long month financially & I couldn’t afford to go out!). Anyway, I have managed to get my finger out & most weekdays now I am up at 5:50am & out the door by 6:20am & in the gym for 6:30ish working out. It’s not easy. I’ve split my routine into 3 different sessions – Cardio, Upper and Lower body. It seems to be working for me. the gym tends to be quieter at that time so it’s easier to get things done & the added bonus is that I have my evenings free. I’ll make another update soon!

This goal will be on my list for the rest of my life. I’ve exercised at least four days a week for the last 3 or 4 years, and every week it is still a challenge. There have been a month or two where i’ve slacked off, usually around the holidays, and I must admit that i feel AWFUL afterward, so I know the exercise is good for me (mentally and physically), but that doesn’t make it any easier. I write it down to keep myself accountable, and that seems to help. I always feel better after the fact, but when you are tired after a long day, it’s hard to go for that run or get to the gym. But I do it, and hopefully will keep doing it, for as long as I’m able. It keeps me balanced. Wish me luck! And good luck to all of you!!
