I live just outside London and i’ve always wanted to work in the city. I’ve just started a temporary job there and so far I love it!! In a couple of weeks time, when I’ve earnt some money, I can start to enjoy the London social life of the chic bars and clubs on Thursday and Friday nights!!

I might look into a job exchange program. I know my workplace has ties with similar overseas organisations. I will also check library employment sites on job exchange programs. The problem is that it still all comes down to what my employer says. If they don’t like it, it is not going to happen. Or should I say, I’m not going to work in London by this method.
This is a major thing for me to decide. I could do with the adventure, the experience and use London as a base to do a heap of other things…..But I’m not exactly qualified to do anything of much importance, while my job isn’t exactly challenging, it is still for a not-for-profit organisation and has its benefits: I am able to contribute to how things are done, I am allow to work how I want, I am my own department, I can get short course training, it is easy to get to (I don’t drive) I like the people I work with ( well some departments are scary, but I don’t go there)I feel my job is nessecary….but I want to see the world….but I don’t want to take a step down on the job ladder…this could help me move up…but most likely won’t because it seems at times that everything I dream of turns to poo…I know I know, I should feel the fear and do it anyway…but I noticed the lady who wrote that book had a lot better job then I do when she felt the fear and did it anyway…I think I need to lie down, with a vodka…and a book of ghost stories
I’m a spanish boy travelling to London in January 2006 and expecting to stay there for a year. I speak english fluently. I would like to get a job. I love fashion, clothes and meeting people that’s why I’d like to work in a fashion shop. I have worked for two years in different shops here in Spain, and I have been a barman too. Part or full-time job, it doesn’t matter. Neither the salary, I just need it to be enough to manage.
Kind of cheating since I’m a born and breed North-West Londener but thought I’d raise my hand and say I’ve done this anyways. Worked in Central London for about 2 months. It was ok. I prefered it work back in my home town but the communting was pretty expensive. That and getting food at lunch time quickly ate up my pay cheque.
I worked in london until last month!
London is a nice place to visit and live near!
but not to work in! its dirty! there are weirdos everywhere
and people are rude!!!!!
I am glad i am not working there anymore.
