Man. I got a boyfriend, and suddenly everything seems to be regularly clean and organized. The main thing we did was got rid of all my clashing furniture, and just got a HUGE bed and desk. I could put all my clutter in boxes under the bed. And that’s it… perfectly minimalistic and easy to clean….

How I did it: I just started putting things away as I used them instead of throwing them on the floor next to my bed and the huge difference was buying a washing basket, and making sure I put a wash on when the basket was full as it meant I didn't have 2 weeks worth of dirty clothes littering my floor! That’s funny I said I wasn’t sleeping next to my laptop anymore, I started doing it again. Why must I create these cluttery obstructions?
My room hasn’t been clean this summer, but I’m moving in less than two weeks and started packing up, a fresh start may be the key.
Vacummed the cat hair, changed bedsheets, washed the litter box, did laundry, put books away. I need to get this Ebay stuff out out out though ! Clutter is the problem.
p.s. I still need bed obstacles. I like that my cat now sleeps at the foot of the bed. I don’t have to sleep with my laptop anymore.
I have some love for being careful where I step. However clean my room is, either leaving something in FRONT of the door or leaving thumb-tacs on the floor is something that I still compulsively seem to do. I also need some sort of obstacle in my bed whether that’s wearing shoes or sleeping on books. I would continue this except for I don’t have guests that have the same profound love for the “tack-avoidance game”. What causes these compulsions? Do I need resistance in every simple act in order to be feeling accomplishment? How can I ever be able to fully clean
my room is like the messiest room in the world. you cant even walk properly around it as there is stuff everywhere even on the floor. i once tried cleaning it up but gave up after three hours. so you can imagine just how bad it is.but i really want to keep it clean. so wish me luck…
Yep…it’s pretty messy right now! oh geez…three days is like my record for keeping it clean!!
- bed: stop putting so much stuff on it, and make the bed every day.
- desk: this is horrible. clean everything.
- wardrobe: i have this big, great walk-in.. and it’s packed-full of stuff, i can’t even really walk in it! :( i guess i could throw away pretty much everything that’s on the floor there!
