I’ll need this as part of the preparation for island living, not to mention medical training is just good to have, period. I’ve had CPR training as part of the ARC Lifeguard training course, but I want significantly more extensive training. I’m considering the Wilderness Medicine Institute – NOLS course.

I’ve been certified in First Aid and CPR since I was in 6th grade. I would really like to use those skills where they are needed and learn more. This is a first step.
Not only have I done this, but I am an instructor for Wilderness First Aid and will eventually upgrade to WFR instructor
NERT is probably more appropriate for my current circumstances than WFR. Also, it is compatible with my work/family schedule!
Yesterday I took adult, infant, and child CPR + standard first aid. The classroom’s air conditioning was off but we made it through the day. It’s only a small step towards WFR but it gets me into the right frame of mind.
I had WFR (Wilderness First Responder) certification back in the mid-90s but I let it lapse. I’d like to take it again.
