I really don’t know what I want to write about. I guess it begins with just trying to figure out what “successful” means to me…

1. Useful to others and inspiring to me
2. Makes money down the road.
3. Has a fresh concept

Hmmmm…. I am digging this feature below that allows me to post to it though.

Maybe I’ll just start all three of my ideas at once and see what I’m most passionate about!

Like with ads and stuff. 10 months ago

I want to be a resource for something. I want to get to the point where I’m doing research on our readers and courting advertisers.

i have been keeping up with my blog recently, at least, posting something almost every day. i would really like to improve the quality of the posts, but at least it’s a good start.

I guess it all depends on your definition of “successful” but I’ve been running a blog continuously since August of 1997, and I still enjoy doing it.

I'm getting there 3 years ago

I’ve been working on blogging. I’ve been reading some more successful ones, trying to see what it is that makes them successful and I don’t think its their lives are more interesting than mine they are just great writers. Their blogs are like soap operas, books, and plays that just keep expanding. So I have been working more on the way I write my blog, rather than what I write in my blog… if that makes sense.

My current blog is just a simple MySpace blog.

And its rough around the edges but I think with some more interesting material, more practice, and more experience. I think I could eventually have a blog with a fan _

so many ideas... 3 years ago

I’m wondering if I need to make another goal, a sub goal for this one, which is just to keep my blog updated at least once a week for a couple months. Not much likelihood of having a successful blog if I don’t keep it updated. Good thing I’ve got a lot of great ideas after today. Perhaps before setting a goal to keep my blog updated, I need to plan more leisure time. My ideas come from time just ehjoying myself quietly, roaming, taking pictures.

Converted to WordPress 3 years ago

We’ll see if this was a good move, but since I already own shinsato.com and my ISP allows a one-click install of WordPress – when I started seeing good words about this OpenSource blog software, I decided to check it out and converted my blog there. One of the deficiencies of Google’s Blogger site is that it doesn’t have a trackback feature. Using trackback can help get people to come to your blog when you post a note on a popular blog.

There's lots of help out there for this one 3 years ago

I’ve got “Naked Conversations”, it seems to be one of the most important books to ready about blogs, if not the most important. And there are tons of websites about blogging. I recommend going to 100bloggers.com and asking to be invited as one of the blog authors, if you’re really serious about this goal. The best way to learn is to read other blogs and write comments. Bloggers love comments, it means someone is reading their stuff, and they may turn around and read your blog as a result, and return the favor.
