it seems like sometimes you make friends that you are super compatable with and them life gets in the way and you’re too lazy to keep up the connection. That’s sad, but i guess that’s life…kinda harsh

So back at college and I realize that I need to make more of an assortment of friends here b/c there is sch a rich enviroment to do so
the problem then; I feel completely out of place sometimes when I don’t have someone along to anchor me, and when I do have someone along that I trust and relate with, we usually form our own little bubble. That and the fact that I ned to get to know less frat boys

Keep smiling. Keep your eyes open. Enjoy everyone. If you’re ready and willing to fall in love with every face you see, then pretty soon you have friends everywhere, with the rich and the poor, the young and old, the powerful and the homeless, friends from all over the world. I know that there’s a lot more people for me to meet—but all that means is that I’m excited to meet them.

    Friends 4 years ago

So far my friends are all from pretty similar backgrounds to myself. This is one reason why I might try to find some penpals from around the world.

I’m soooooooooooooo glad I learned to do this. It has opened my eyes to so much in life. I’ve become friends with so many people and learned to see their hearts and not our differences. I wish more people could/would do this.
I came from a relatively narrow minded background so it was an uphill push at first…but over time as I really got to see those hidden areas of people and I learned to find areas of commonality with them it has really helped soften the harsh side I used to have.
I’ve learned that sincerity is the key though…you can’t call a person a friend unless you are sincere in your efforts to get to know them and love them and let them learn to feel safe with you because they know you accept them. The biggest fear alive in this world today is the fear of rejection. If people know you won’t reject them no matter what it makes a big difference.
