    I love Thai food, enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Awesome! 2 years ago

I absolutely love thai food. I’ve just started cooking with the most common dish (pad Thai). Alton Brown did a wonderful show with it where he explains what the ingredients are and why they are so important. I love thai food!

A friend treated me to a Thai lunch 3 years ago

It was both good food and good company.

The restaurant was popular but not hurried or too busy. It made a lovely lunch break at work.

I know I’ve completed this, but I just want to comment that I think there was some sort of habit-forming substance in my thai food. Becuase even tho it was so spicy it made my nose run and even tho it was a bit pricey, I’m like “hmmm, maybe I’ll get some after work tonight”. Be warned- this may start a new addiction. :)

So i went to Bamboo Leaf which was way more upscale than I thought it was going to be, as such I opted take out instead of eat in. Got myself a small coconut soup with veg and tofu, lemongrass chicken, and the famous Thai Iced Tea. The soup is really interesting, I ended up saving half of it for later, but finished the iced tea and chicken ( not the white rice, gave that to my brother). They were sweeter and spicer, respectively, than I thought they would be, but both really good. I don’t know if it was the caliber of place i went to or what, but I thought it would be a smidge cheaper. Or maybe I ordered too much food, which is more likely. Either way. worth doing.

How obtuse of me!!! 3 years ago

There is a Thai restaurant not 5 minutes from my house, and I didn’t even know it. In my defense, it is tucked into a strip mall not even facing the street straight-on, with the culturally ambiguoius name “Bamboo Leaf” (which could mean any sort of asian or asian-inspired fusion dishes, really). I’m gonna do my yoga, and then I’m running over there to try some Thai.

I’ve had more Thai food than most other cuisines at least in the last 10 years.

Some of my favourites include Paad Thai, Green Curry, Green papaya salad, and duck curry, jungle curry, and spicy salads.

I also had some great cheap thai food in Thailand.

    SO good... 3 years ago

The only food I MAY like better than Thai is Indian food. I always get the Thai iced tea (don’t know if it’s because I live in the South or if they actually drink iced tea in Thailand, but it’s the best…Thai iced coffee is pretty amazing, too), coconut soup, spring rolls or cheese rolls (which remind me of crab rangoon), basil fried rice, masaman curry (not too spicy, has avocados, cashes, and potatoes, and is AMAZING) with tofu, and fried ice cream. Obviously I share a lot of this stuff with others or get a to-go box, but I just can’t miss one of my favorite foods…Pad Thai is also good, as is green curry and yellow curry. Definitely get the curry with tofu even if you’re a meat-eater, though, because it will turn you on to tofu, which can be quite good when prepared properly, and because the fried tofu seems to soak up the curry flavor better than meat does.

Want to try real thai food 3 years ago

We cook stuff at home using jars from the supermarket but I want to see how different these are (or not) from real Thai food.
