I just can’t find anything really meaningful yet in my statistics class. I understand the material, but I’ve yet to really find anything that interesting to go and ask the teacher about. There is a project at the end of this class, so maybe I’ll have something to talk about then.
How to go to each of my teachers' office hours each week and ask meaningful questions
How I did it: Initially when I wrote about this goal, the gist of what I wanted to accomplish was actually knowing my teachers. All throughout my undergraduate studies, I really didn't know any of my teachers and always found it troubling when some job opportunity or educational form asked for references from teachers.
Well, this time in grad school I was much more passionate about the subjects I was taking and found it natural to at least question (complain) about anything anti-transit. Also, one of my statistics classes was so challenging that I had to go to office hours just to get a passing grade. I didn't go each week to office hours, but I felt like I got to know each of my teachers and will continue to have them as contacts for the future.
Lessons & tips: Take that extra time after class to talk about what you thought about the teaching and ALWAYS ask the teacher either in class or office hours if you don't understand something.
