How to read the entire Bible"It always amazes me how much God changes me when I read through his word. "
How I did it: I just try to read pretty consistently and find times when I am on planes or I wake up early to read larger chunks of the Bible. I think the main thing is to make sure that you are meditating and applying what you are reading instead of just reading to read. If you do that it can turn from building your relationship with God into drudgery. Lessons & tips: I have never been able to stick to a normal reading plan so having all the Chapters of the Bible on one sheet and just being able to check off wherever I felt like reading was really helpful. Resources: You can download the same Bible Reading Plan that I use to help me read through the Bible from http://leadercast.com

How I did it: I started on the interesting books of the bible to me like PROVERBS... and kept checking them off once I read them. I then keep the not so fun books like NUMBERS to read in sequence with the first five books. Then just read a lot of it in order till I had read the entire Bible from cover to cover. I even read all the Maps at the back. Its been a few years now since I first read it and I'm now working on reading it my third time. The… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I did not read the book in order. Rather I started with parts that I found interesting. Then moved on to the information that was not as much (such as the Law of Israel.)I would read a page or so a day, sometimes less and sometimes more. Ultimately I was able to read the entire book in three years. Read how I did it…
How I did it: After I moved to another country, I had more free time (since I had no friends there yet) and the opportunity to rearrange my daily schedule. So I decided to fit reading the bible into my daily routine. My approach was to read bigger chunks to get a better grasp of the complete context, rather than reading a few single verses and then meditating over them. How I did it: I spent 90 minutes every day reading the bible. I went through a chronological listing of the books of the bible and ended 4 months later after Christmas. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I tried to just read a chapter a night. There were a few weeks at a time when I stopped (for one reason or another) which is why it took me so long. But my uncle (a pastor) told me if I could read a chapter a night (roughly) it would take me about a year (roughly) so I tried to follow his advice. Read how I did it…

Hestia74 is in a state of thanksgiving...
You know you have established a new habit when suddenly you can’t engage in it and you miss it. That’s what happened with my Bible reading while my son was in the hospital for five nights. I stayed with him around the clock, and didn’t leave the hospital in all that time. That first night I felt a very strong need to read the Bible for two reasons: because it is already an established habit and because of the situation I was in. I needed the extra comfort.
I decided right then and there that I will get a smaller Bible to carry in my car always, so when a situation like this happens, I’ll just take it with me and read…

Two nights ago I finished the Gospel of Matthew, and now I’m starting the gospel of Mark. Right away I can tell the differences in both books… the details each writer decided to emphasize are very different one from the other… Of course, that only enriches the reading.
whataboutscience getting back to a routine!
Started at the beginning, and in Acts right now. I also learned the order of the books of the Bible just this year, which has really helped me a lot in Bible studies or church services so that I can find the right page quicker!

Just finished reading the book of Numbers. Tonight I will begin Deuteronomy…
I am a Christian and grew up hearing the Word. This will help me as well as see for myself that it really does say all that it is said to say. I guess the NIV has slot missing so mayby if I finish this then will try the KJV!!
I study the Bible, by looking up the references to each verse.
I look up each scripture I am reading on a subject. Take John 3:16
for example. Please read it. In the middle of the Bible you see books of the Bible and numbers. These are the cross references, to whatever verse you are reading. On John 3:16 KJV The references are…
Romans 5:8- Is. 9:6 look those up. Romans 5:8 look in the middle of
your Bible. under chapter 5 look down at verse 8. The reference is…..Is 53:5 John 3:16 John15:13 Look those scriptures up. Keep on looking up all of the scriptures in every reference. You will then begin to understand more of what God is trying to tell us. Hope this helps.

I’ve been inspired and I’m back to reading the Bible again. I’m not doing any sort of order or study or even really keeping track, but it’ll just be good to get back into reading it again.
