How to read the entire Bible"It always amazes me how much God changes me when I read through his word. "
How I did it: I just try to read pretty consistently and find times when I am on planes or I wake up early to read larger chunks of the Bible. I think the main thing is to make sure that you are meditating and applying what you are reading instead of just reading to read. If you do that it can turn from building your relationship with God into drudgery. Lessons & tips: I have never been able to stick to a normal reading plan so having all the Chapters of the Bible on one sheet and just being able to check off wherever I felt like reading was really helpful. Resources: You can download the same Bible Reading Plan that I use to help me read through the Bible from http://leadercast.com

How I did it: I spent 90 minutes every day reading the bible. I went through a chronological listing of the books of the bible and ended 4 months later after Christmas. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I tried to just read a chapter a night. There were a few weeks at a time when I stopped (for one reason or another) which is why it took me so long. But my uncle (a pastor) told me if I could read a chapter a night (roughly) it would take me about a year (roughly) so I tried to follow his advice. Read how I did it…

How I did it: Read the KJV... one book after another in my spare time over 3 months. It takes less than 1% of your time over a year to do it.If you're a Christian, you need to read this to understand what it is you're telling everyone you believe in. Most of your religion is founded on glorifying mass-murder and celebrating the Israeli people. Jesus didn't actually intend to have his message preached to non-Israelis... that part got a… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I'm not really a religious person, but when I hit a religious phase, I found that reading the books that interest you the most make it much easier. The Bible is a variety of books, not just one, written over a vast historical period. While I would recommended reading the first five books in order (since in the Hebrew, they are one scroll, the Torah), for the most part, skip around and read those parts that interest you. Then go back and r… Read how I did it…

I’m determined to read the entire thing. I stopped reading after Isaiah, and then I lost my Bible. It was a really nice ESV leather one that my friend Jonathon bought for me a few years. Anyway, if you’re feeling generous hop over to my amazon page. I wouldn’t mind if a nice ESV showed up in my mailbox sometime this month. Given my beliefs, it’s not likely that I’ll convert, but who knows. Surely, its worth $30.00 to find out?
In the meantime, here’s my plan:
- Check out a copy from the public library
- Download the Bible app for my iPhone.
- Read four books per week. This would mean I’d make it through in about eleven weeks
Cheers!

What I’m doing is reading one chapter from the Old Testament (from the Pentateuch and Historic books), another chapter from the poetic books, and a chapter from the New Testament, almost every night. So far I have read Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Job, Proverbs. Right now I’m in Numbers, Psalms and Matthew.
I read the entire New Testament for Lent and i couldnt get enough of reading more after that. I just cant motivate myself to reading the old history books yet.
change everything loves her mini bungee cords
now means I’m needing to read 3.8 chapters a day to finish by December (I’m okay if I don’t finish by December, but it’s something to shoot for).
So maybe I’ll try to actually read 8 chapters this weekend so I don’t lose any more ground (I typically read more during the week on my way to work)
I gave up on the reading plan, I didn’t find it had the continuity I need when I read a bit here and a bit there. So as one of the parts was reading a bit of Genesis each day, I decided to just keep reading a few chapters here and there and work from Genesis to Revelation.
