How to give up soft drinks
How I did it: I used to drink up to 3 glasses of coke everyday and it never felt healthy. So in the spirit of boycotting after the Gaza attacks, I decided to give up on Pespi & Coke last Febuary.

Really hooked on diet coke and coffee. Biggest problem is
not being able to sleep. Reaching this goal would help with other goals 1) better sleep schedule 2) drink more water
jin is not giving up.
one week without sodas and im feeling great!!
i actually did it because I just didn’t think it was healthy for my teeth, and I realized how much I was drinking. The first few days were hard, but after that I just started craving juice and water instead.
If you are a regular soda drinker you will feel so much better after giving it up. You’re likely to lose weight also. I gave up drinking the stuff and now I’m completely repulsed by those people you see carrying around and chugging on Mountain Dew all day long. I must admit that every once in a while I like to have a Pepsi or Coke when I’m eating out(as sort of a special treat) but sometimes I will regret it afterward… It literally makes me sick now.
I’ve done this a number of time, but I’ve finally kicked the habit for good. Giving up caffiene and carbonation was hard, but it wasn’t so bad after the first few days. I get a craving for a cold soda every now and again, but I can combat it with cold cran-apple juice or lemonade and survive. I drink a lot more water now, and my skin has never looked better.
I feel a lot better too.
Now, even when I really really want a regular soda, it just tastes like carbonated poison. I recommend trying any of the following while kicking your HFC habit:
- Boylan’s all-natural soda (their Cane Cola is awesome)
- Izze (carbonated juice)
- seltzer (flavored or not)
- very very diluted juice (kids juice, like Juicy Juice works best)
- water with a slice of lemon or lime in it
For many years now, I have realized the importance of eating healthy food and drinking the correct amount of water. Being healthy seems to make life more enjoyable. However, I have never been able to give up my one major vice: Coca-Cola. Now, I can live without other soft drinks. Pepsi does nothing for me, Dr. Pepper makes me gag, and Orange Sode, though delightful, is easily overcome. But Coca-Cola!!! It has a hold on me that is not easily rivaled! I have made many attempts to break the soda curse and have never quite been able to find a healthy substitute. Something about that burning sensation (the erosion of the esophagus) makes me smile. But, this is the time and this is the year that I plan to, once and for all, kick the coke habit. Who’s with me?!!
