I think I can meet this goal by Friday just commuting if I ride to at least Mercer Island in the AM, or ride all the way home in the PM. 5 years ago
Maybe – just a guess, at this point.
Meanwhile, Jim Carson manages to accomplish this goal seemingly overnight. 5 years ago
My cyclocomputer’s on the fritz, so this is an estimate.
I’ll post some sort of report on RSVP later – that’s the major chunk of the new miles since the last posting.
I expect I’ll round out the rest of the goal with commuting – I have no other major rides planned. No RAPSody this year; David’s horsing around with a friend all next weekend, so I have the girls. 5 years ago
It should have been much more, but some spokes were loose on the tandem, and rather than complete the metric century we’d mapped out, we backtracked and rode to the bike shop. 5 years ago
Last mile, coming up 156th, some high school boys yelled something nasty at me and threw something out of their car. They didn’t expect me – they never do – to catch up to them at the light.
I pounded on their window and said, “Boys? Excuse me, boys?”
They looked ahead with stony faces, refused to acknowledge me.
Before I got the chance to say anything else, the light turned green, and they zoomed off. 5 years ago
a trivial, abbreviated commute Friday (excuse: jet-lag), and then 65 miles out to Monroe and vicinity, and back.
We used a route I haven’t done in years, remembered through the mnemonic, “The high bridge falls down on you” (High Bridge Road -> Falles Road -> Downes Road -> Yew Way) which worked out OK. 5 years ago
I rode part-way in to work today, after not riding since STP in mid-July. I’m going to have to rack up the miles if I’m going to survive the upcoming RSVP! 5 years ago
