GONZOLONG Much overdue "Spring Cleaning"
Having recently seen a small “clip” from a movie starring Kevin Spacey, called “Pay it Forward”, (haven’t seen the actual movie myself :( ) I was intringued by the basic concept…To do something big for someone (at LEAST 3) people thatI don’t know, in order that a chain might be created and ultimately in a small way “make the world a better place”!!!...

Leaders listen up… Odds are that if you got on this website you are looking to become a leader. Too become a leader, this is hard to do, become a servant. Join a younger bible study (not as a leader but as another student), help at nursing homes, help out at school, etc… But the point is to become a helper, not a leader, helpers have the heart of a normal person. Leaders, that don’t have experience in helping others, tend to be more arrogant. I am the same way. I jumped into trying to be a leader and “led” a high school Student Government astray. I started bossing others around and other obnoxious things. Jesus Christ had to break me and let me know I wasn’t being a so called leader, just because i was the president it didn’t make me a leader. But what he, Jesus, did was put me in the bottom postion the next year. That helped me realized i needed a different heart and the next year, Senior year, Jesus put me at president again. We raised more money than any other year of student government ever for my school. Jesus blessed me out.
Quotes
Integrity is absolutely everything.
Being a leader is knowing when to stand up, but also knowing when to sit down.
Make the Difference! Be the Difference!
Being so egotistical and selfish in terms of thinking I am what is most important I keep remembering that people all over the planet have nothing to eat as I sit here in my home (which i helped build of course), and I understand that yes I can make a difference!, I can volunteer and help schools and I think in the end run I will help education not only in my city, state, country but all over the planet!

I think that this really is quite funny because in every decision and action there is change, no matter how trivial. It is the conscious decision to continue making the right choices that ultimately affects our impact. So, perhaps, this goal is not necessarily what I want to do. Because little by little, I am making a difference, just not as powerful of one as I would like.
I don’t get it. I feel like I was brought into this world to make a difference. I feel like I need to be important, but right now I’m a nobody. Everyone in my life think that I’m being dramatic and insane, but I am so passionate about my dream. It hurts when people just laugh it off. To be honest, I want to sing. I want to inspire people through song, but seeing as I was not given the gift of a beautiful voice, I need to do something else. People need to see me and know who I am. I want to make a difference.

Who knew you needed training to help you make a difference? I never expected the strength in character I found within myself during a recent conference and after participating in Rachel’s Challenge. I am currently doing small things, but isn’t it the small things that add up?
Saoirse [Freedom] The Pursuit of Happiness
I’m mad and ashamed of humans. Because, it seems to me that a lot of humans are okay with being ignorant. Stuff happens, bad stuff, and they say, ‘oh well, it’s not MY problem.’
Well, it’ll be your problem when everything starts to go down the toilet and you end up dead or something. All because you didn’t want to take a little bit of reponsiblity.
Human’s are killing the Earth. Animals and trees have a right to life too. Just because they haven’t built cities, created tv and card, burnt down trees to fuel their lifestyles, doesn’t mean that they don’t. And it doesn’t make them stupid either. Sometimes I think that a lot of animals are smarter than us BECAUSE they haven’t done all of this rubbish. They live WITH the Earth, not against it.
When there are no trees the oxygen will run out and everything will die because it can’t breathe.
When the icecaps melt the Arctic and Antarctic animals will die, people will die, the world will get flooded.
When starvation, suffering, insane weather conditions and all such things are on your doorstep, maybe then you’ll think, ‘Oh, maybe I should have taken some responsiblity.’
It’s our JOB to look after the Earth. Not to kill it. There is more to life than going to university, buying cars, getting rich and overpopulating the Earth more than it is.
There are so many ways to fix this. I refuse to be one of them. I refuse to be the cause of the end of the world.

Well, I know I’m going to make a difference in the life of one person. One of my Scouts. To be brief, there is hardly any money, and no father in his life.Life Is pretty grim for them sometimes. Mom had to borrow money ( at my insistence) to get the car loan paid. When I asked him about his plans for the future he said that he would like to go to school for a certain career, but he sees no point in it, since there is no money to send him.
I have money from a settlement with the military for my disability. With their permission, I have set aside $18,000 for his college education.(You should have seen the look on his face) with the following conditions—
Only he and his Mom can know about this. If others found out about a Scoutleader essentially giving a Scout this much money, well, there would be a lot of hard questions to answer.
He can’t waste it. Try to stay the course on the education, and not just screw around.
He still has to apply for loans and grants. The money will give him a start, but not pay for everything.
Now, he is taking his grades a little more seriously and is trying to find good places to go to school. I hope this works out.
