I’ve needed glasses since I was 8 and stopped being able to see the board clearly. In the 17 years to follow, I must have had 5-6 pairs and two of those were substitutes. When I went to college the first time, I bought two pairs of Gucci frames with the right prescriptions. Don’t ask me where they are now. I am now 25 and afraid to renew my driver’s licencse because I may fail the eye exam and be required to wear lenses all of the time. My brother just got laser surgery and gave me his old frames. I am waiting on a job with health insurance or more money from my check, whichever comes first, before I re-invest. I’m afraid of my eyes getting worse from being dependant on the lenses, but I’m getting older and they are getting worse. I’m running out of choices. So, I’m aiming for the end of next January.

Got reading glasses at my work the other day, they’re helping with the eye strain, but I think it’s a temporary fix.

I need to quit putting this off. I just can’t see well anymore and my vision is getting worse.

I can see just fine. I just get eye strain really bad, all the time. im talking at least once weekly. I think constant reading makes it worse. It just makes you want to close your eyes and shut out all light, I cant watch TV. I cant read, I cant play video games, music doesnt really help either. sux

Both are about -0.5. Not too bad, the guy said, but as I’m experience trouble during the day (for example, not being able to read the white board) I’m going to get glasses. Next week my sister is coming along with me, making sure I won’t by a pair that makes me look rediculous ;)
I can’t wait to have them! Although I find it annoying, too, because I always thought my eyes were the best working part of my body (ahum ;)), I’ll just be happy seeing normal again. The guy showed me the difference – how I see now, and how I will see with classes, it was so much better!
