Tomorrow I’ll be sounding my barbaric yawp at an 80s one-hit-wonder singalong. Imagine an entire movie theater full of folks karaoke-ing to subtitled old music videos. You may sing better than me, but you can’t sing louder!! Is that such a good thing?...Whatever… I’m YAWPING! This is one of my favorite forms of entertainment in Austin :)
At any rate, I want to play along and dress up. I got this pair of jeans at the thrift store last weekend, but now I’m wondering if they are even 80s? And what do I wear with them to look 80s?
If you know me, you know I can barely match clothing from the current fashion era… Help!!

“I too am not a bit tamed—I too am untranslatable;
I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world.”
10th grade, Kate and Tom and I had a screaming party. All of us (but Tom especially) were having lots of difficulties. We walked in silence through the woods to the edge of the golf course, counted to three, and screamed our lungs out.
It felt a lot better afterwards.
I’d like to do this again. Things are going pretty well, but that’s no reason not to yawp. Maybe I’ll see what Tom is up to. I haven’t heard from him in a while (which could be a good sign… or a bad one… or signify nothing whatsoever… which is more likely the case).
Sometime.

From atop the historic Castle Rock in Castle Rock, Colorado, I sounded my barbaric yawp across the rooftops of the world. I could see the entire city in all directions, the foothills on the horizon, and the snow-topped peaks of the Rockies behind them. I felt powerful, and I felt tiny at the same time. YAWP! Pictures to come.
