But for now, I’m marking this done.

Thanks to flutterbyyou, for the idea :)

It turned out pretty good, I only ate a small portion of it last night, but then I had the rest of it for lunch today.

I was going to try this a week or two ago, but realized I didn’t have any milk to put in the mac+cheese. I almost tried it without it but just ended up waiting.

When I was about halfway done cooking the macaroni, I realized I don’t have a strainer and I don’t even have a lid for the pan so I couldn’t just use that to drain the water off. Luckily, I found an odd shaped tupperware container that I nearly never use. I poked a bunch of holes in it, and it worked surprisingly well. I expected it to be slow, but it actually worked nearly as well as a storebought strainer.

Once I finally passed all the roadblocks, it actually made for quite a tasty meal :)

I just stuck some homemade hot pockets(ala Alaythia’s comment to my last post).

It took a bit more skill that I was expecting(either that, or I just did something wrong lol). I figure this batch will be somewhat of an experiment(and a late supper). I ended up using one can of crescent rolls and making one really big one and two smaller but actually probably better sized ones. The big one resembles a hot pocket more. I used two of the rolls to make a rectangle on the bottom part and then put on the filling, and stacked another two roll rectangle on top, but I couldn’t get the top to stick to the bottom very well. After that, I just used a single rectangle, put in less filling and folded the edges/corners up to the top and twisted them all together. That worked better, we’ll see how they look after cooking.

I’m also not really sure how long to cook them lol, so for now, I’m gonna try about the length it said on the can of rolls. I figure it’ll take longer than that, but I might as well check them then.

I’m not yet sure of the result, but the actual process was kinda fun.

So... 2 years ago

I’m going grocery shopping on Thursday(payday). Anyone have any recommendations? I’d appreciate any help with this since I’m pretty uneducated in this area.

I guess I should explain what I mean by healthy though. While healthy seems to have become interchangeable with low fat, low cal, low sodium, etc., I’n really not interested in those so much. I would actually probably like high cal foods as I want to put on some weight. High carb and protein are good too. I have low blood pressure, so sodium isn’t really an issue either, I’ll probably add salt to pretty much whatever.

I’m lactose intollerant, so nothing with a lot of dairy… though that reminds me I probably need to look into a calcium supplement.

That’s all I can think of to say. I’m hoping to find at least a few different things to add yo my menu.
