How to obtain my Conceal Carry Permit (in this State)
How I did it: I had to go to the Courthouse to fill out paperwork, then go to the Sheriff's Department to be fingerprinted and have a background check ran, then back to the Courthouse to finish the paperwork process. Then all of the paperwork was sent to the GBI for final processing.
Lessons & tips: No cash or personal checks are accepted in GA for payment of fees for processing
Take your driver's license and birth certificate for proper identification for processing

Definately worth it… you need to protect yourself, because chances are nobody else will do it for you. Carrying a firearm is a huge responsibility. If you are a good citizen, and are sane in the head, you should be carrying.
So some progress is occuring on their end. I’m sure they’ll sit on their hands for the next 80 days though.

Yep. Got the Glock now, and am taking the concealed carry course on Saturday.
I got mine about a month ago here in WV. Realtively easy to get. The first few times you leave the house while carrying, it’s weird. Now, I don’t think anything of it.
Today I purchased a Glock 19 and a Comp-tac Gurkha (http://www.comp-tac.com/ct_gurkha.html) holster. I can pick it up on Thursday of next week.

A week from tomorrow, I intend to take the class and fulfill most of the requirements for a concealed weapons permit.
Today I shot a .40 calibre Glock 23. It was pretty great. Adding Glocks to the list of guns to consider for CC. The gun dealers said it’s very difficult to get Bersas or Kel-tecs at the moment.
