Morning has Broken 8 months ago

I stole this goal as I think it’s such a wonderful one to have. I think this is much more effective than one of my last goals of “wake up early.” Okay I’m up, now what? I just feel super tired.

By having my own inspiring morning routine I will wake up feeling good and ready to take on a happy and productive day.

Routine will be the key, as I’ll need to make it a habit to make sure it sticks.

The game plan.

Start with a quick run.
Juice.
Stretch. This is very important. I feel so stiff throughout the day.
Make a top 5 things I want to get done today. (and how)
And a top 3 things I want to get done for the week.

Then off to school!

I think this will be a good starting off point. And I can add more things once I see I am accomplishing these.

I LOVE my morning routine. This has been one of the most positive changes I’ve made in my life lately. While it changes day to day, I’m really dedicated to starting my day positively and leaving the house feeling inspired and happy.

When I’m lazy and completely skip my usual morning routine I notice a difference during the day. I don’t feel as centered or as grounded. Some days if I wake up feeling a bit anxious or unsettled I just use to time to process whatever I’m feeling (I love EFT) and move on feeling happier. It’s so important that I give myself time everyday to do that.

This has become a really special part of my life.

It was so nice to be back home this morning and to do my morning routine again. It’s evolving really nicely and usually involves some reading, meditating, my altar, prayers, EFT and some writing. Sometimes only a couple of them, some days I do the whole lot. It’s quite fluid and I just kind of go with whatever feels right on the day.

One thing is for certain – I definately start the day feeling a whole lot more centered when I do it.

I have been a bit slack with this in the last week, and consequently I’ve seen a decline in my mood. It’s good validation that having a morning routine is positive for me, and renews my determination to stick with it!

I actually really like my morning routine. It’s such a peaceful and inspiring way to start the day and get in touch with myself. I’ve only been trying to do it for a couple of weeks now, so I think with time it will become more of a habit and easier to stick with.

Good morning sunshine.... 1 year ago

I used to be one of those sickeningly cheerful morning people, who’d bound out of bed all optimistic and energetic.

Nowadays just getting out of bed at all is a struggle sometimes. Mornings are a really hard time for me, especially with the depression. However, on days when I make the effort to get up and get going I seem to do a lot better overall.

At the moment I have a rough routine that I try to stick with. I get up, have breakfast without any TV or music so I can just relax, do some reading and then sometimes I’ll do a short meditation and set motivation for the day.

However, I’d really like to set up a more formal morning routine so that I can have a postive start to the day.
