i cant sleep more than 5 hours a night

    So long! 1 year ago

I can’t go to sleep early ever, I have a problem with it.

I got to bed at 1, and wake up at 7:40 almost everynight. I am so exhausted every single day but I just can’t fall asleep earlier then 12.

Now I’d start tonight to sleep more but I have 2 big tests tomorrow so i will need to study late into the night. But tomorrow I will make myself go to sleep earlier

    I'm lucky 1 year ago

I’m an 18 y/o homeschooler and I’m really lucky because I sleep ten hours a night. The important things is that if you’re young (15-25) you need more sleep than adults or children. Adults need 7-8 hours a night but studies show the best time to sleep for teens is 9 1/2 hours a night.

    Sleep log 2 years ago

    2/17 7.5 hours
    2/16 9 hours
    2/15 8 hours
    2/14 8 hours
    2/13 7.5 hours
    2/12 9 hours
    2/11 8 hours

I’m getting pretty good at this, but I still need to work on consistency. I find that I’m not really paying attention to my internal body signals on some nights, and so I end up staying up later than I should, which means I sleep in later and it messes up my internal clock for future nights. So, I think I’m going to just force myself to start doing bedtime-stuff like putting on pjs, brushing my teeth, and such around 11pm. This should help make things more consistent. Then, I can read in bed instead of watching TV or checking e-mail or whatever. I think it will be good for me to create a little buffer of quiet time before bedtime. Hopefully this will also give me better dreams!

I’m not on a role with this one. I don’t know if I’ve ever consistently slept 8 hours a night, unless I was consistently waisted the night before…which I consistently don’t do.

    Sleep Log 2 years ago

    2/10 10 hours
    2/9 5 hours
    2/8 7 hours
    2/7 9 hours
    2/6 8 hours
    2/5 8 hours
    2/4 9 hours

I’m still having the most trouble on Thursday nights, trying to get everything done for Friday. I clearly need to reorganize my time to get this stuff done earlier in the week so it doesn’t spill over onto Thursday night and prevent me from sleeping. I have a new procrastination busting plan, so hopefully that will help.

Slept 9 hours last night. Was only woken up once at 5am by landlord’s dog barking. It felt good to be fully rested.
