How to sleep 8+ hours a night
How I did it: Use bedroom for sleep only
No reading in bed
No TV 2 hours before bedtime
Wake up the same time every day no matter what my schedule. If I must stay up late one night, I still get up early and take a 30 minute nap during the day if need be.
Never go out on work nights.
People doing this are also doing these things:

kittycatpurr here fishy fishy
1. Going to bed before 12:30 AM, which requires
2. Putting myself to sleep at 10:30 PM or earlier, which means
3. Using up my evening watching TV or intertubes doesn’t help and makes me wired, therefore
4. Not watching TV/computer is a good idea, and
5. Not turning on the computer when I get home could help with that.
Bonus: getting to work on time.
Doing this since 4 months, loving it, and feeling much more healthier! Very worth it!

samantham89 time enjoyed was yay
i’ve been doing this in order to go to school and not sleep the whole time. it’s awesome and it feels good to wake up in the morning and not still be tired.
I can’t go to sleep early ever, I have a problem with it.
I got to bed at 1, and wake up at 7:40 almost everynight. I am so exhausted every single day but I just can’t fall asleep earlier then 12.
Now I’d start tonight to sleep more but I have 2 big tests tomorrow so i will need to study late into the night. But tomorrow I will make myself go to sleep earlier
I’m an 18 y/o homeschooler and I’m really lucky because I sleep ten hours a night. The important things is that if you’re young (15-25) you need more sleep than adults or children. Adults need 7-8 hours a night but studies show the best time to sleep for teens is 9 1/2 hours a night.
2/17 7.5 hours
2/16 9 hours
2/15 8 hours
2/14 8 hours
2/13 7.5 hours
2/12 9 hours
2/11 8 hours
I’m getting pretty good at this, but I still need to work on consistency. I find that I’m not really paying attention to my internal body signals on some nights, and so I end up staying up later than I should, which means I sleep in later and it messes up my internal clock for future nights. So, I think I’m going to just force myself to start doing bedtime-stuff like putting on pjs, brushing my teeth, and such around 11pm. This should help make things more consistent. Then, I can read in bed instead of watching TV or checking e-mail or whatever. I think it will be good for me to create a little buffer of quiet time before bedtime. Hopefully this will also give me better dreams!
I’m not on a role with this one. I don’t know if I’ve ever consistently slept 8 hours a night, unless I was consistently waisted the night before…which I consistently don’t do.
