this has been challenging with the boyfriend. he’s not really the “new boyfriend any more… it’s been 3 1/2 months now. kind of settled into “the boyfriend” at this point.
but he likes to stay up later than i do. so i’ve been staying up later than i’d like.
here are some things i can do:
1) talk to him about going to sleep earlier
2) no more laptop in bed
3) read before bed instead of laptop
4) have a routine bedtime & a routine before bed 3 months ago
my sleep has been very affected by my new boyfriend. i need to sleep on an even schedule, and he can go to sleep at 11 or 12 or later one night and then at 9 the next night. but i’m not like that.
so i need to talk to him about it.
i can just tell him if he wants to sleep with me we need to go to sleep by 10. otherwise he can sleep alone. and the nights he sleeps by himself he can stay up late.

i think i slept about 8 hours last night!! i was at my mom’s house… she has a great bed here. florean wanted me to come over and sleep at his house and i’ll admit i was tempted but i said no. and ended up getting good sleep! so it was worth it. 6 months ago

well i think i got about 8 hours last night but i ate a huge meal right before bed and i’m feeling bloated on salt. today i want to eat more earlier in the day, and no big meals before bed.
go to yoga class tonight (and this morning!) and maybe do an exercise video this morning or go for a walk.
yea maybe i’ll go for a walk now.. it’s not even windy yet. and then do yoga tonight.
laurel said she might want to get together this afternoon… so maybe we can go out for tea. or she could come over to my house. 6 months ago
i did better at this last night, did not bring the laptop into my room. i think it helps, causes a more restful sleep without the light from the laptop shining. 7 months ago
well… i’ve been messing this up lately. I was up until past 10 last night watching tv on my laptop. with not exercising as much, i am not as tired. so it’s harder to fall asleep. and then i wake up earlier too. 6am.
but i need to sleep to heal. it’s just hard to sleep when it’s so cold. and it’s only october!
but i have to sleep. it will help with weight loss, and controling bipolar and just health and everything.
SO. no laptop in bed. in bed by 9pm, with no laptop. just a book. no eating after 7pm. like last night, instead of eating that chicken, i should have eaten some yogurt.
what else? maybe turn on the heater before bed if i get too cold. or in the mornings. 7 months ago
the sleep has been going really well. i’ve been getting to sleep by 9 every night. i feel much better with more sleep, but now that the weather is getting colder i’m really noticing feeling lonely… it’s harder going for walks, i see less people out, i don’t want to go to my dance classes as much… i am dealing with tendontiis in my hip so i have had to rest more…
i am going to go to dance class tonight though. i will take my anti-inflammatory twice today, and i’m going to go to the rueda class which is over at 8:30, and i won’t go to the palomar, i’ll just go home afterwards, that way i can still get enough sleep. i will clean the house & kitchen before i go so that i can get enough sleep when i get back. (& relax.) i will write a little list of my planned routine for when i get home. 8 months ago
I think it would help my weight loss (and everything) to make sure I am home by 8:30 every night (no more dancing at the palomar parties) and be in bed by 9pm. going to sleep early has always helped with weight loss. 8 months ago
my sleep has been pretty good but my “sleep hygeine” could definitely be better. even right now (!) i am on my laptop in bed. my bed is just so comfy….
it would be nice to have a newer bed, (in a few years) this bed is really cheap. 8 months ago
I went to sleep last night at 9 and slept until 8… tons of sleep but i notice when i sleep better i lose weight. i want to start getting to sleep earlier.
i often fall into the trap of feeling super anxious about my weight creeping up and start telling myself, “hey just do more salsa, it’ll help you lose weight!”
and then i don’t get the sleep i need and i actually can’t lose weight because i’m not getting sleep.
every person is different and even though some people can lose weight staying up late dancing salsa (and oh how i wish that was me…) it isn’t and i need to get to sleep at 9.

I went to a winery last night. But I’m proud of myself because I didn’t drink any wine. Because of my bipolar I’m not supposed to drink wine.
Anyways, afterwards I was considering going to the grand opening of the “new” palomar in scotts valley, and my friend and i got dressed to go to it, but then i felt too tired but my friend was hanging around my house and i was too polite to kick her out and basically i’ve been feeling like too many social things are happening.
i got invited to a house warming party today, but i don’t think i am going to go.
and there is a free yoga party in los gatos, but i don’t think i’m going to go to that either.
i’m just going to go to yoga at 10, and hang out with mike and laurie around 12, and then to salsa by the sea….
and just have a chill out day…
or maybe I will go get the 7 day gym membership at power fitness and do the 9:30 step/sculpt class…? and then the 10:45 world danz class?
i need to buy zumba shoes. I guess I’ll just look at the sneakz at jerry’s and find ones that have turning circles.

slept in this morning until 9AM!!! it felt good though to get the extra sleep and i woke up having lost 3 pounds. i always notice it getting a good night sleep that it contributes to weight loss. i think the sleep helps lower stress levels. 11 months ago
this is going ok…. well not really. i’ve been staying up later than i’d like because rueda classes are from 8-9 now and i get home and can’t fall asleep.
i created a new schedule for myself though, which should help i hope.
i am not happy to be back at 154. also, i got my period today…
well at least i should be back to hopefully at 150 in a few days just from adjusting to changes with the menses.
but i want to be back in the 140s!!!!
i just have to keep trying.

having super issues because my social life basically revolves around the rueda classes i go to every night, and now they shifted them so they don’t start until 8, and i prefer to go at 7 so i can get better sleep. if i don’t come home until 9 it’s hard for me to fall asleep…. my whole routine is thrown off!!!!
but i can’t STOP doing rueda… i just need to find a way to fall asleep quickly once i get home. maybe take a shower right away, or make sure the house is clean, or always do yin yoga at night… i’m not sure. 11 months ago

i was up last night on my computer and also did not brush my teeth before bed! i just slept in my clothes too… a bad night overall… (plus the cat was bugging me this morning for whatever weird reasons of his own, i think his litter box wasn’t clean enough…) but i put on my sleep mask and kicked him off)
in bed by 9, rested and relaxed, cat taken care of (bath before bed?) no computer, dinner a couple of hours before bed, just rested…
maybe some restorative yoga before bed…
but def. in bed by 9 w/ NO COMPUTER. 12 months ago
plan on being home by 9:15, clean the kitchen, clean the litter box, feed and water the cat, and use sleep mask.
