Zesto!
Another little place here in town. Went there for ice cream and burgers the other day. Was surprised they were open, considering they usually just open when it’s nice out.
Though, it is April. It should be nice out, now…
Silly snow storms. :)
Anyway, I’ve been going here since I was little. Always liked the people… and the food, of course. 1 month ago

Paradise Grille in Pass-a-Grille. I live literally a mile away from Pass-a-Grille but I hadn’t been there in years. I drove down on a beautiful sunny day and went to this little beach shack and got a bacon cheeseburger and a pina colada. And wow! So yummy. It was really nice sitting outside in front of the water. Then I strolled around town. Such a beautiful area. I would love to live down there. Reminded me a bit of the Keys. 3 months ago

Sushi Spot Noodle World. A pretty good sushi spot in Largo (Larghetto). It used to be one of my favorites, before I discovered Basil Leaf on the beach by me. Now it’s not worth it to drive that far for sushi. But I did Friday. 4 months ago

Timpanos Italian Chophouse in the Hyde Park area of Tampa. I went there before a show at the STRAZ. It was ok. I got some yummy oysters from up north and some tasty tuna poke for appetizers. Then I got an eggplant rollatini for dinner. It wasn’t so good. It was dry and hard to eat and not enjoyable. I shoulda got a steak or something. I don’t plan on going back anytime soon. 4 months ago

This is a Mongolian grill-style restaurant.
It’s all-you-can-eat and you select the ingredients and sauces/seasonings you want for your dish. Then, they cook it up in front of you on a large table-like griddle (cooking many dishes at once).
It’s very tasty! I wish I had had room to go through twice. :P
Next time: two smaller dishes w/different flavor combinations. 5 months ago

Safari themed restaurant. The kitchen sink was more than enough for 2 adults and a small child. I didn’t get any alcohol while I was there but because the drink prices and the sizes they had available I’ll probably go back eventually with some friends after work one night.

Denny’s!!
Curse me! I wanted to take a picture for this one because of the Hobbit menu!
I tried the pumpkin pancakes and the red velvet… Hush puppies? Snap, I already forgot what they were called! Both delicious. Otherwise I had a burger and fries. :B It was my first time at Denny’s, and I want to go back ASAP before the Hobbit menu is gone, cause I’m sure it’s not permanent… Unfortunately. 6 months ago

We got a Groupon for this place, which is always fun.
The service was great. They even gave us more bread and hummus when they boxed up our leftovers.
The food was yummy, too. I got my favorite dish, Mjadra. So, simple and so good. Mmm… it was very good, but I’ve had better. Actually, I’m going to start making it at home. It is such a simple dish… don’t know why I haven’t made it before!
I would go here again. If I was in the area… 8 months ago

This place was recommended to us by a friend. Though, they hadn’t actually been there. heh.
It’s a pretty upscale place. Expensive, fancy, tasty!
They make this cornbread that is amazing. I mean, it has a bourbon butter glaze for it that is incredible. No need for dessert, either.
And, they were very gracious about making me a custom cocktail. :D
(I didn’t order a custom cocktail, but the one I requested they couldn’t make. So, they made an inspired cocktail for me instead.)
It was a good place to go for our date night. But, I don’t expect to go there again. I will be trying to re-create that cornbread though. >:) 8 months ago

Napoli’s is a fairly new Italian place in town, and I’d say it certainly beat out New China Buffet for the N spot.
We tried their lobster ravioli, meat lover’s pizza and spaghetti with meat sauce and mushrooms. The portions were large for quite the nice price, the service was fun and super nice, and the food… Uhm, ‘orgasmic’? :’D
The we had a nice slice of New York cheesecake between us for dessert. Moist, fresh, scrumptious.
I was leery at first about going there simply because it looked… Well, leery. But it was fantastic. Definitely going again! 10 months ago

This place is pretty meh. I want to really like it. And, it seems pretty up-scale, but it’s a little disappointing. The two dishes we got were both a kinda bland. Though, the bread was good. And, the service and atmosphere were quite nice, but still, not a place I’m excited to return to. 12 months ago

Cha-ching! It was nice out last night, so S wanted to take a walk. I, somehow, wasn’t too tired after my workout to agree. So we meandered up Lyndale Avenue, and after a while we got hungry. I asked if he wanted to try Galactic Pizza, and he agreed, having no idea that he was just a conspirator in meeting this goal.
When we got there, the waiter, clad in a vintage Stones t-shirt that we were both jealous of, handed us our 3D glasses for the menu. Yep.
We got the Alfredo pizza, vegetarian-style. Galactic is a really cool, progressive business, actually, so I’m just gonna link to their vision. Suffice it to say, we had really good pizza, and I got to feel smug about being a do-gooder while I ate.

This is the beginning me and my girlfriend’s Oahu restaurant adventure
a) Asahi Grill Keeaumoku: It was a pretty good place.I ate Calbi and my girl had som sushi and romin soup. We both liked it. Calbi could have less fat. I would give this place a 7.8. I guess the have the best OX tale soupl on the island, but we did not try it.
b) Benihana:(I would say that this is my favorite resteraunt. It has both entertainment and amazing food! I am goint to give this place a perfect 10!! Mila (8.5)-she just does not like it as much!
c) Cheese Burger Waikiki: (Me: 8.5 Mila:8)I got the black and blue burger! I was hungry and it really filled me up! Not bad at all!
d) Dukes Maui: I thought that this was a very good place to eat. I had a really good egg white omlete and potatos. The bartender was nice and food was served quick. Me 8.5-10—Mila:7-10
e)Edge Burgers: We both thought that this resteraunt was about a six. The food tastes pretty good but nothing memorable
f) NA
g) Genius Lounge: 7-10 we need to try more of their food. The atmosphere is about a 9 out of 10! It is a really cool hang out spot! It has a really nice Saki bar. Need to try out the Saki!
h) Hard Rock Cafe (Maui): Me (6-10)The food took forever, the waitress was nice but not my cup of tea. Food was ok! The salad was blah! (Mila 5-10). You can definitely go to it and leave with a full belly, but nothing spectacular.
i) Il-Lupino: rating (Me: 5-10 Horrible insulting service) (Mila: 8-10)
j) NA
k) Keos: This place serves both american and Thia food. I think the Thia is better. We both gave this place about a 7.
l) NA
m) NA
n)Ninja Sushi: I hate Sushi, so I can not really rate this place. My girlfriend gave this place about a 5. I thought that the fried spring roll was pretty good!
o) Ono Cheese steak. This is a philly cheese steak wannabe. The are ok at best. The meat is really greesy. But they are open really late so it makes for good after bar food. Me 7 Girl 7
p) Papa’s Burgers: (Me:8.7 Mila:9) Gourmet Burgers were very good. They had a small menu, but it seemed all good. We had the bacon burger! Def. a place people should visit!
q) NA
r) Roys:(Me: 7 and Mila 8) I had short ribs and she had escargot a suchi roll. The place is very nice and above average price. My girl did not like the roll and the spare ribs were over cooked. They were ok at best. The waiter took away the roll from the menu.
s)Saint Germaine: (Me:8.5-10 Mila:8.5-10)really good local sandwich place. Really fresh bread! I thought it was really good!
t)Tikis: We only ate a appetizer and a drink! We had the beef wrap! It was really good! But not enough food to really give a awesome rating. 8.5 out of 1.
u) NA
v) NA
w)Wolfgang’s steakhouse: This is a high end steakhouse. The food is about $50-75 a steak. We went their for happy hour. We got some slider burgers, steak sliders, steak Kabobs and lobsters pate on bread. I would say the kabobs where about a 10-10. The burgers where about a 8.0-10. The steak sandwiches where about a 6.5-10 (dry and boring). All these meals come with fries. Services was ok. So overall Me: 8-10 Mila: 7.9-10! Each meal is $7.00. Can not beat the price.

z) Zippys is a local fast food chain that serves Hawaiin style food. The chili they have is amazing 9-10. The other food i.e burgers/fries/sandwichs are 7-10. It was a pretty good place to quickly stop in an eat. 13 months ago

I used the freaky-good weather as an opportunity to “take a walk uptown,” which was a convenient way to just go book shopping at Magers & Quinn. (“BUT I’M A TEACHER AND THEY’RE FOR SCHOOL” has been my mostly-true battle cry regarding my book binge this weekend.)
Afterwards S and I stopped by Uptown Cafeteria & Support Group for a quick snack. We got the Leinenkugels-battered onion rings (which came with delicious sauce-sort of a mild chili garlic) and house-made potato chips and French onion dip. Most importantly, I had the most amazing Oreo-grasshopper shake. I wished afterwards that I’d swum more than a half mile in the morning, but at least I just felt sluggish, which is more than the guy we watched get arrested for drunk & disorderly behavior can say.

Over the weekend S and I went to Milwaukee to meet up with a couple of my friends and see the Promise Ring play their first show in seven years, and to stay in one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. (Nice work, Ambassador Hotel). Before the show, the four of us met at the Newsroom, a pub that is awesome because a) it’s the official meeting place of the Milwaukee Press Club, the oldest press club in the US; b) they have autographs all over the walls, and it’s the third-most-valuable autograph collection in the world (if only people signed their names legibly-I don’t know what most of them said); and, coolest of all, c) there’s a MUMMIFIED CAT in a glass case on the wall. They found it in a wall, and had it bronzed. It’s just the right combination of creepy and awesome.
They had a really small pub menu, and not a lot for we vegetarian folk (GOD the fish fry smelled good; such torture) but I ended up having a portobello burger, and they were generous with the blue cheese. So that was good.

Hog’s Head!
Me writing that last entry and mentioning Florida just reminded me; we ate at the Hog’s Head in Harry Potter World in Universal. xD It’s totally a restaurant. I had… strawberry and peanut butter ice-cream (delicious!), a butter beer (extremely sugary, but good. Not recommended in large gulps and amounts. xD) and fish and chips! Usually I can’t eat fish… I just don’t like seafood or fish in general. But that fish was so good.
I had a picture of the Hog’s Head sign, but it looked terrible. And I had a picture of the butter beer, but… I wanted to show the ice cream instead? *shrugs 16 months ago

Went to Bali in September and ate at this really awesome cafe in Seminyak. It’s casual but quirky and the food is unbelievable! A lot of natural, organic foods that taste amazing. Had the cucumber soup, the freshest salad I’ve ever had, and a chocolate dessert to die for! If I lived in Bali I would go there every day. 17 months ago
