    Watchmen. 9 months ago

Well, I made a start the other day, reviewing Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. I confess I still feel new to reviewing and have no idea what I really need to include in there. Plus this probably wasn’t the best one to begin with, given my lack of literacy with graphic novels.

    Practice makes perfect, I guess.

Getting back to it. 10 months ago

Okay, so maybe not every book, but certainly most books.

There are a few reasons I want to do this. Firstly, it helps me think more critically about what I read. Secondly, it helps me to remember what I read. It’s handy to be able to go back and read my comments on something when someone asks me what I thought of it a few months later.

I used to be better at doing this and found All Consuming quite useful. Hopefully this goal will help me get back to it.

I enjoy reading books and writing a review about something I’ve read will let me capture & preserve the mood that I was in while I read the book.Besides I also get to exercise my commentary on the intricacies of the plot, characters & so on… So much for the creators of the book!!

I use to rate every book I read with a short comment. Writing a longer review can help me not only remember what I read ages ago but also will force me to exercise my memory if I want to write about the plot, the style, the characters…
