...don’t wear them any more.
I had a pair of Reebok DMX 6 that I wore into the ground. The soles were barely on any more. You know those air pockets? They were worn through and any time it rained my shoes would squeak and squish for a day or two after it stopped.
Anyways, these shoes were super comfortable, but I found out later they were ruining my gait, and I had poor pronation in my feet because the outside of the sole had worn through but the inside near my arch was relatively still there. This led to odd rolling problems in my step and pain caused thereof.

I’ve had a ponder about why my shoes are so important to me & why I was considering throwing them away.
After comments in here & in my lj, I realised that they represent the frumpy pregnant me & now that I’m no longer breastfeeding & am slimming down, I don’t want to be that person any more.
I was just starting to get my groove back when Kate was 2 & then I was pregnant again & reverted to back ache, sciatica, tiredness & extra weight.
Holly is now 6 months old & even though she doesn’t sleeo through the night any more, she is no longer a little baby & I want to start reclaiming myself back.
I want to be a yummy mummy once more & may even be achieving that as Andy told me that I look sexy & fanciable tonight in my combats & new tight t-shirt.
Kate was also playing with some of the local kids this afty & the 2 boys of about 9 or 10 both fancy me, which is cute, but I suppose is also flattering as I still see myself as being overweight & tired & frumpy, but actually that’s not quite so true any more.
To summarise anyway, I’m keeping the mules for the time being as I wear them out in the back garden when I’m hanging out the washing etc, but will stop wearing them outside the house.
I wore my other pair of clarks sandals today when we went out into town. I don’t like them as much as my comfy favourites as I actually bought them when I was pregnant with Kate so they are completely flat, but they are at least smart & presentable. 8 years ago

I’ve had these mules for 2 years now (on their 3rd summer) & they’d seen better days last year, but I wore them as I was pregnant & they were comfortable.
I’m wearing them now & they’re stretched out from when my feet swelled up with water retention, they’re still falling apart & I have 4 pairs of better condition mules / sandals that I can wear.
I even decided I didn’t need to buy any new shoes this summer as I don’t need more than 4 pairs. This is unheard of as I adore buying new shoes.
I couldn’t decide between 2 pairs of black boots last winter, so bought them both. I couldn’t decide between 2 pairs of sandals last year, so bought them both. I have plenty of footwear!
Why then am I still wearing these old favourites? Why?
I must throw them away.
