I’ve visited Yellowstone twice. One time, we road horses through the border of Yellowstone. Another time we went whitewater rafting down the Snake River. It was breathtaking.
How to visit Yellowstone
How I did it: I lucked out...a good friend was planning a trip there and we tagged along. The reservation system is good...I called every few days and was able to add one or two nights to our itinerary until we had duplicated our friends' trip. The cancellation policy is quite relaxed, so we knew we could cancel the whole thing if it didn't work out.
Lessons & tips: Try more than one lodge...they are all unique and we loved them all!

Shakespeare's Girlfriend is excited to see what happens to her in 2009!
It was amazing!! I saw all of the west side of Yellowstone from the north gate to the south in three days. I got to see all of the major geysers do their thing and played at the bottom of a couple of waterfalls. I had to stop for elk and bison crossing the road and caught a marmot outside the cabin. It was quiet, relaxing and so worth the 14 hour drive.

I’m hoping to go visit her this summer.

One park I’ve wanted to see ever since I was a kid – just have to make the road trip and see it (preferably after it warms up).

It will be fun. This is definitely in the works and will happen in June. I want to see wildlife, relax, and enjoy the scenery and fresh air.
Beautiful and amazing. You won’t believe how beautiful. And right in our very own “yard”! Go! HAve fun! And stay AWAY from the Grizzlies and the Bison! They are REAL and REAL MEAN!
