one slight change. 2 years ago

the silver screws against the silver door looked a little weird, so today i got some black ones! much better :D

done and done. 2 years ago

everything is finished except the seal on the turbo intake has to set before i drive it or remove the bracing on the outside. otherwise, we had bits of rain here and there and flying dust, ergo, smarty needs a wash.

otherwise, here is a pic of my newly painted fuel door. I am going to look into getting black screws or painting the heads black just to accent a little bit.

RE: weekend project 2 years ago

...also adding to fix my mp3 player mount. my iPod is a little wonky in it from time to time: no more of that.

long weekend projects!!! 2 years ago

    - Re-Seal the turbo manifold and the supercharger intake!
    - Paint the fuel door
    - Kiwi my rain mats
    - clean and condition the glass properly

met up with the other smart driver... 2 years ago

...in my company. his car has tons and tons of gadgets, and its put together really cool. its sharp, i like it. but he has no functional mods or anything. so he is getting stock mileage, and nowhere near as fast as my car. its give and take, -his is way fancier, but mine performs more like a finely tuned sport coupe.

    VGs! 2 years ago

here is one of the attached row of Vortex Generators on the rear of the roof. the vortex generators change the virtual shape of the car into something much more sleek, and should provide better fuel economy, reduce drag, draw water and grime away from the back of the car, and improve stability as well.

    pics! 2 years ago

the first of my new side markers, they are a translucent white that go really well with the silver parts on the car, and are just awesome!

VG Strips today! 2 years ago

so i got them installed, they finally came, with 8 bucks of COD customs nonsense: too bad. pictures to follow, -they look really sharp. I’ll get a couple for my new marker lights as well :D

    two today! 2 years ago

changed my oem side repeating lights for translucent clear ones with amber LEDs, its a small touch, but it looks a lot nicer on my paint than the factory ones. a very small thing, but really classy.

also: the traction control disabler for specific winter driving scenarios, reputed to be extremely helpful. its a cool little chip that plugs into the OBD II port.

    which leaves:

    1) vortex generators: to change the laminar shape (already ordered).
    2) brakes: drilled discs and kevlar pads with painted calipers.
    3) winter drive snow-tires.
    4) brabus front air dam.
    5) performance exhaust system and steel heat valance.
    6) turbo induction upgrade.
    7) engine software upgrade (remap).
    8) suspension caps.

I have big plans for my car. 2 years ago

I love this car, i love the way it is, the way it drives, the way it handles, how its so big and ergonomic while being so small, and especially: the mileage I am getting. but there are a few things in particular that I want to do to it: and really unleash the capabilities that this amazing vehicle has.

    1) vortex generators: to change the laminar shape (already ordered).
    2) brakes: drilled discs and kevlar pads with painted calipers.
    3) winter traction: trust winter software and drive snow-tires.
    4) brabus front air dam.
    5) performance exhaust system and steel heat valance.
    6) turbo induction upgrade.
    7) engine software upgrade (remap).
    8) suspension caps.
    9) maybe more…

    and updates to follow.
