I’m not much of an artist, but there’s a Color Me Mine that’s pretty close buy where you can paint different ceramic items. I did this last year and really enjoyed it, so as I’m trying to get out and expand my hobbies a little more, I think this is a good one to add to the list.

Becca I'm a professional living room dancer.
I absolutely LOVE doing this. I have been three or four times now. I just took my sister (her first experience) this past weekend. I made a lovely vase, a nice green with mauve flowers in two diagonal lines. If I had the money I would go all the time!

gabby is in Asheville! Dream come true!
I started a monthly pottery painting group! It is so addictive, and therapeutic.

The place where I went was wonderful! They are sweet and they help you a lot, especially if you aren’t a ‘talented painter or artist’ like me. It is in Thousand Oaks California and it’s called Simply Ceramics. Love them! They are awesome!

Kitchen Lemons
My kitchen in ‘lemon’ themed, so I painted these for the fridge. They didn’t have a lemon slice, so I used a watermelon slice and painted the back side instead of the front.

My best friend has a ‘purple grape’ theme kitchen so I painted these for her…

I did this kinda ‘by accident’. Didn’t plan it, didn’t know I was going to, but as soon as I get the pieces back, I’ll upload a picture.
I’m gonna have to do this again!

So, I never did end up taking my camera to work – so here’s the picture my wife took after I gave it to her this Valentine’s Day.
I had a blast and was happy enough with the results that I went back again since. (Even though my perfectionist side sees all the flaws.) I did a light switch cover for my model train room this time – I’m waiting to get that one back.
Great times and very relaxing as long as you can get past the “need for something to be perfect”. :) Everyone should try it at least once.

So, it was pouring out today so I took this opportunity to return to the pottery painting place today to finish things up with my vase. Hardly a professional job, but it’s done. We’ll see how it looks after glazing and firing.
I told my painting partner that they shouldn’t worry about it being perfect, only that they made it for their daughter and that will make it special enough. Of course, I’m here stressing about all the little imperfections on my own. (I should learn to take my own advice.)
Oh well, it couldn’t have been such a horrible experience since regardless of how it turns out, I’m probably going back.
I’ll post a picture when I get it back & mark this as “done”.
