write my own music

Since I’ve learn how to play the guitar, I’ve always wanted to learn how to write my own music to go along side of it. I think it was be completely cool, and would have something else I could tell people about. Hey, who knows, maybe once I learn I could try teaching someone else how to write it as well.

Although, I do have one question; is writing poetry anything like writing music / songs?

i need help to write a song

I taught myself to play guitar when I was 15 b/c my best friend at the time (and still) played bass and we wanted to start a band. Started writing my own music just out of boredom, then it became a challenge. If you play an instrument like guitar it’s pretty easy. I was never very good with lyrics, though. I’d say I have about 20 songs, mostly instrumental. You don’t have to go crazy, just start with a few chord progressions that sound good to you. Go for it!

i got finale recently and i’m currently trying to write a song for piano and one for violin… its a slow process for me because i only write when i get inspiration

I’m going to try doing this for a scholarship, but I’d like to a lot more with it.
