learn to play keyboards

I have played trumpet, guitar, and recorder but I really want to learn how to play the keyboards. I have this musical background and I want to set aside time each week to teach myself how to play

My friend Nick made me very jealous with his ability to knockout the kraftwerk back catalogue at a party. He says it is mainly down to years alone in his bedroom while i was out chasing girls. I got the girl, so now i’d like to learn the kraftwerk!

There are songs that are just so lovely! like Georgia, or Your Illusion, Penny and Me… and I could go and go..!! I’d love to know how to play this songs… and a lot more! I just love it!!

electroinica… trad piano… even weird effects… the modern midi keyboard offers us all of the above once connected to any old laptop and some decent software for sequencing and soft-synthing.

Even as a child I loved music. Despite my pleadings, I didn’t get a piano at home and settled for an electronic “organ”. Fine as a kid and I still have fond memories of that lump of brown plastic (now donated to a very welcoming young cousin).

But now I want to let the creativity run free and passionately tip-toe and stomp across a modern keyboard… velocity sensitive… even a bit of aftertouch… and with access to a bulging bag of software patches and tools to make it all sing.

Step one is done – I bid (successfully) on a novation x-station. My overture has started…
