And this weekend I discovered the perfect glass. Vidigal something, not very expensive, and with a fine round taste, not too fruity. Love it! Though I’ll never stop trying out new sorts of wine. The only downside is the blue teeths…
wellwell..
cheers!

although I have been able to recognize a good red. But mostly cheap whites will do nicely.

this next weekend when we go up to Napa and spend three days there. Wine Country Safari tours will take us deep into the wine “jungle” and teach us all there is to know about Napa reds. Lead on!

My feelings have changed about this. I tasted the perfect glass of red a few months ago. I believe it was zinfandel. My partner had it in her wine rack, left over from a trip to the Sonoma wine country last January.
We already have a trip planned for January 2007 to Napa Valley to sample more wine with another family. I intend to get serious about tasting reds this time. The good stuff is the good stuff!

On a wine trip, through the Russian River Valley, I tried a glass of Martinelli’s Zinfandel. It was outrageously breath-taking. Regardless of the $43 price tag, I bought a bottle. Now I’m waiting to discover the perfect situation to open this bottle.
So I’ve gotten the perfect glass of Zinfandel… such a small accomplishment with so many other varieties in the world.

and although I’ll never have that kind of vocabulary about the subject, I can see a kind of Zen focus to it all.

A Chardonnay, fruity and oakey? A pinot gris? I’m familiar with the Chardonnay, but not much else, so I’d like to discover other white wines. (I’m not really a fan of the red, although after a couple of sips, that Merlot certainly tastes better and better.)
