I do shelter work. Not all the time, and not always with enthusiasm, but as part of my life. I feel responsible. Sometimes though, the lovliest thing is to feed and care for a cat that has come off the street and is safe. Maybe it’s that unconditional love and that look of bliss they get when they’re full and happy. Maybe it’s because cats are smart and they know we’re to blame for the lives they lead when they get dumped. Really, who cares? It’s a good thing.
