Post more on my LiveJournal

My LiveJournal sits idly, having not been updated for…34 weeks now. My last entry consisted of…how I hadn’t posted in ages before that.
Ironic. But I worked up so much motivation to try and keep a journal, so I’m going to stick to it.
My aim is to write one new entry a day, on ANYTHING, even if it’s mundane. If it doesn’t entertain others, I don’t care. I’m keeping this journal for my own memories.

I put up a long post with images, it felt good to journal and spew info out like I did. I enjoy it. Not that anyone but a few people read but that is ok, it is nice just having it out there.

... but I have come to the conclusion that Wordpress is better suited to my needs than LiveJournal.

I just found out that Wordpress.com conveniently includes the ability to import entire LiveJournal blogs including the comments into one’s new Wordpress.com blog. I’m liking what I’m seeing with Wordpress especially their more professional looks and a commenting system which is nicer to visitors who do not have a log in. So it looks like my LJ will likely get demoted to a free account when its paid time runs out to be used only for leaving comments on other blogs and for the one tea community that I actively take part in.

I feel a bit outraged at the moment as I just found out that the fancy LJ paid member only blog themes are available for free to all Vox members. I know that both Live Journal and Vox are owned by the same company but don’t like how what is free at one site costs money on the other site. If I would have known about this last spring I never would have gotten a paid LiveJournal account which as if now will not be renewed. At the moment (or at least until I calm down) I’m at the point where I’d consider switching blogging services if there was an easy way to import my old entries without having to manually copying and pasting it over entry by backdated entry.

I had a paid account before, but I stopped posting very often… I got married and started a photography project, so I was expressing myself enough already. Now I have a paid account again… impulse buy because I missed my extra icons. So I guess I’d better start updating again!
